introduction
Stiles held his bat in his left had, holding it so tight his knuckles were turning a shade of white.
He could've sworn he heard a noise.
Right as he was about to go back up to his bedroom, the noise had happened yet again. Stiles tried to slow his breathing the best he could, taking note of the panicked feeling he had.
Stiles started towards the kitchen, getting ready to swing his bat at the first thing he saw.
He held his breath, he thought he was breathing too loud and ragged. If there was a predator, he probably could hear Stiles' loud intakes of air.
As he inched closer to the kitchen, he could make out a shadow.
Oh shit, there's actually a person in here, he thought quietly.
He adjusted his grip on the bat as if he could hold it any tighter than he already was. Stiles ran up to the predator and swung his bat at he or she. The person ducked, making Stiles tumble forward a bit and knock over a nearby vase.
He was unable to keep his balance, his shoes gliding on the floor like it was ice. The predator was right in front of him now, holding him straight up.
The light was turned on, and Stiles' dad was standing right in the doorway, shaking his head. Stiles felt stupid for making such a big deal over the "predator." Then he felt bad for almost hitting her with a baseball bat."Lydia Martin, what the hell are you doing here at 2am?"
