TW: implied/referenced child abuse, substance abuse, child SA, every warning in this story basically. [No, nothing bad happens. We're just getting into the fEels {aka, teenagers sobbing} and this time, hopefully more realistic because this time, I'm writing from experience {yesterday} so yeah... I can write crying more realistically now!!]
By the time the sun was beginning to set and the sky was painted with orange and pink hues, —golden hour had begun, the dam had been transformed into what could only be described as 'paradise' for the seventeen teenagers.
The half-walls had been decorated with random graffiti art, in the centre of all the graffiti art, right on the wall in front of the stairs, was the word 'past' written with black spray paint, the paint dripping down with a big, red cross mark on it.
The graffiti was random, but it had turned the dam into a vibrant, colourful place with drawings mocking the things that had brought them pain. Everyone, even those who didn't particularly draw, had drawn or written something on the half-walls.
After the graffiti was done and everyone's hands and clothes were covered with spray paint, the seventeen teenagers dispersed around the dam, doing their own things, looking around the dam, chattering about, sketching in their notebooks, completing any pending work from school they had, Su-hye and Ga-eun were sitting on one of the half-walls, the older girl was teaching the younger all about music composition, Ki-ha and Ki-ho had climbed down the dam and ran straight to their neighbourhood, shouting something about bringing along a feast, they had returned back, with four big lunch boxes and everyone's phones in their backpack.
"Woah! Look at those flowers!" Byung-hoon exclaimed, running up to a rather far away half-wall of the dam, where a small cluster of purple wild flowers had bloomed in a crack in the wall.
Immediately after hearing him, all of the seventeen teenagers had surrounded the flower-cluster, Kyung-se hurriedly pulled out his phone and took a picture of the flower, then, he began taking random pictures of the nature around the dam, the sun's last fading golden light hitting the nature and making it glow.
Namjoon patted his shoulder, "Good job, Se. Can you send me these pictures later?"
Kyung-se grinned, "Sure, hyung." He nodded before
Byung-hoon plucked one of the wild flowers and inspected it, "It's called 'selfheal'." He spoke, "I saw it in one of my books."
"Do you know what it symbolizes?" Jimin asked, peeking over his shoulder.
"No, I don't think it has a set meaning." Byung-hoon replied, twirling the flower.
"How about we give it one, then?" Hosu suggested, throwing his arms across both the boys' shoulders.
"Oh! Good idea!" Jimin exclaimed, looking at Byung-hoon with slightly sparkling eyes, "What do you want it to mean, Byungie?"
Byung-hoon twirled the flower once more, "I... think it should mean something similar to Kyung-se's drawing. Maybe... it could mean healing, love, acceptance of oneself, and the feeling of being home."
"Woah," Jimin whispered, his eyes widening and sparkling with awe.
"If I may add," Taehyung spoke from where he was standing on the dam's half-wall, watching Kyung-se take pictures, "Purple is the last color of the rainbow colors, purple means I will trust and love you for a long time. Do with that information what you want, I just thought that it was cool that the flower was purple too."
"Okay," Jimin began, slamming his fist into his open hand, "This flower," he pointed at the selfheal in Byung-hoon's hand, "Is officially the best flower in existence."
