Summary: During the day, Fredbear's Family Diner is a sweet, hometown diner with an arcade and special rooms reserved for children's birthday parties. During the night, though, it's more akin to a pub. The animatronics are put away, the party rooms and arcade are closed. The lights are dimmed to a warm yellow, and the best fresh, hot meals are served with whatever alcoholic beverage is desired. There may not be any cartoony or "Fazbear-themed" songs to keep the atmosphere alive, but they aren't needed. Not when there's a piano resting in the corner, waiting for any good man to play it. Every now and then, a visitor takes a swing at the piano, but no one can quite match the same energy Mr. Afton used to put into it. It'd been a long time since anyone heard a tune like his... until you came along.
Note - I normally hate song chapters, but I had a lovely idea for one that I couldn't get out of my head. Pardon if my writing is a bit off; it's 3AM and I'm exhausted, hahaha. I hope you enjoy either way. :)
(Update: It's nearly 8AM now that I've finished. I'm tired lol)
I'm going to do this a different way from how people normally write song chapters. Just a heads up :)
Also, he's not a bad guy in this. Probably don't have to say it, but felt like it was worth mentioning hahaha
~*~*~
The bell above the door jingled, alerting the handful of night owls scattered throughout the Diner's main room to your arrival. Cheerful greetings rang out as you greeted old friends and new faces alike. The lights were pleasantly dim-- still bright enough to see, but not so bright that it would hurt the sensitive eyes of those who came out to 'escape' for a little while.
You liked the Diner at night. Childish things were put away, the radio went silent, and the exhausted adults seeking relief from the troubles of life came out to gossip and laugh, sharing drinks, tears, and memories together. It wasn't always meant to act like a 'pub' of sorts. Yet surprisingly, it was actually Mr. Afton's idea to welcome the night life after the most popular bar in town shut down. He'd done it out of pity for a few friends of his at first, but soon enough, word spread, and it became the second most popular meeting place for all kinds of folks. As much as he moaned, groaned, and complained at first, you never thought he particularly minded. After all, Mr. Afton was a showman. There was nothing he loved more than an audience.
Every night, Mr. Afton used to perform for everyone. There was a piano in the corner of the Diner near the stage that normally went unnoticed during the day. Having the night life here gave him the perfect opportunity to use it-- and you were all pleasantly surprised at how well he played.
That was how you first started coming here, actually! You were on your way home from a late class at college one night when it started raining. Seeing the lights on in the Diner, you quickly rushed inside, hoping to apologize for the intrusion later after you got the chance to dry off. Instead of seeing a bunch of tired workers desperately trying to close for the night, though, you found warmth-- the welcoming bustle of waiters and waitresses laughing boisterously with customers as they passed around food and drinks. It was lively and the air was abuzz with alcohol.
Above all the chatter and laughter, you could hear a melody-- energetic and brilliant, telling a story only your heart knew the words to. It was more alluring than the alcohol, and like a moth to a flame, you were lured to a table by a relaxed waitress. She took your order without delay and it was delivered just as quickly-- and like the music, you could taste the love that went into every morsel. Addicted to the merry atmosphere, you made a purpose to come back whenever you could.
