Insomnia: An Unexpected Pair

We sat watching Spongebob, sitting close together to keep our spirits strong about the recent sorrows. Suddenly, Sqaishey's head fell on my shoulder and a small snoring noise came from her.

I turned carefully and looked at her face to confirm she has fell asleep. A warm feeling filled my stomach and burned like a wildfire inside me as I grew protective over her. I slowly nodded to sleep, staring at her.

"Waakkkeeee up sleepyhead..." A voice giggled.

I wiggled around to find the warmth that comforted me last night, and fell on face-first into the sofa. I grunted and opened my eyes reluctantly, staring into greenish eyes. I stared into the eyes and blinked sleepily.

"Come ooonnnn, I made breakfast.." The green eyed person said, wiggling a spoon.

"Sqaish-Sqaishey... Whhhyy..." I groaned, and stretched out lazily.

"Cause its nearly 10 AM and you've been asleep a while."

The events took a turn and snapped in my head, we were leaving today. "Awe, crap. What time is the train?"

"3 PM, this afternoon." She responded, a sad pitch to her voice as well. "I'm gonna get my hamster and stuff and move out..."

Reality faced me as I realized she could be in danger, going back home to her ex boyfriend. "I'm coming with you. You probably will need help packing anyway."

Her face lit up and then went out like a light. "I need to find a apartment or something."

My face started heating up as I processed a suggestion in my head. "H-how about you move in with me? I have a guest bedroom in my house." It made me slightly awkward knowing she'd be sleeping downstairs from my room.

She started grinning and blushing, "you'd do that for me?"

I nodded, blushing as well, and got up off the couch, walking into the dining room to find pancakes mountaining on one big plate.

"It's cake so you can't complain... It's a pan-cake." She grinned at me and waved one in my face.

"Eh, cake, pancake. Same thing." I shrugged and sat at the table, putting two pancakes on my plate, applying butter and syrup.

We ate in silence and sat back, full when we finished.

"Let's see if there's a museum or something cool we can get lost in for a few hours..." I smiled sweetly at Sqaishey.

"Okay let me just go to clean up my hotel room real quick to pack the little bit."

After we finished packing her stuff and she changed in the bathroom, then we went out, stopping near a computer store to buy Sqaishey a better PC and silent cooling fans.

"Stamps... What if we get there and Shawn is there?" She shivered and her face was disgusted.

"Simple, I'll beat his ass." I growled, slightly under my breath. I held her hand and smiled at her, but imagined the pain Justin would be going through if he happened to be breaking into Sqaishey's home. The dude wouldn't know what hit him. Rage bubbled in my stomach, but my face said differently. I smiled on the outside and was pissed inside... Typical, cause I was brought up this way.

We stopped at a donut shop and bought one to share, along with two tea.

"So," I murmured, "about Lee... Do you think he'll be bailed out by his parents?" Lots was on my mind today.

"Probably, my parents would if it was me, then they'd probably give me a piece of their mind." Sqaishey said, deep in thought, "except my Dad. My Dad wasn't so nice." Her forehead wrinkled as she stressed.

I just held her hand and smiled at her, she would be mine soon. She would be living with me. My smile grew and I grinned at her, excited head to toe.
