4 MONTHS EARLIER

Elora's POV

I've never been one to start conversations.

Quite frankly, I enjoy my solitude.

It was another perfect September day here in Rochester. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and a cool fall breeze refreshed my senses. The warm sun shining down onto my skin.

Like any other day, I walked aimlessly around the park near my apartment, it had become routine for me to wander the paths, taking in the sights.

Normally I would go sit on the bench just past the entrance but in my place a man with long, brown, curly hair furrows his brow obviously in deep thought, scribbling in something that appears to be a journal.

I decide that maybe a little change of routine would be nice and I proceed with my walk entering a thick bush where little sparkles of light danced through the branches. As I walked through I couldn't help but let my mind wander as the curiosity of what decorates the pages of the mysterious man's  journal has me retracing my steps, back to the park bench.

Only to see that he is gone.
