For the next few days I notice the man writing in his journal.

In all honesty, he is a work of art. His dark ringlets fanned across the side of his face, his bottom lip tucked under in concentration.

I lean against the brick wall across from him pretending to be marvelling at the view of the weeping willow trees cascading down around the park when suddenly he breaks his train of thought looking straight at me, emerald green eyes scanning over me only to return to his previous position.

Immediately I look down, flustered that he had caught me staring at him.

Suddenly my familiar Justin Bieber ringtone from when I was ten blares from the back pocket of my skinny jeans.

"shit" I mumble as I hear a stifled laugh across from me, once again seeing his sparkling green eyes.

Looking down at my phone I see it's my best friend Adelaide calling. To avoid any more embarrassment I answer the call and walk down the path, feeling his green eyes trail after me.

"What do you want?" I snap.

"Jeez, someone's grumpy today!"

"Sorry Addy, you just called at a really bad time."

"Can I make it up to you over coffee? My treat!" Her cheerful voice always made me smile.

"For sure, meet you in 20!"

I hang up my phone and shove it back into my pocket, quickly walking past the bench in hopes that he  wouldn't see me.

"Nice ringtone ya got there, love."

Immediately my face turned the brightest shade of red imaginable.

"Thanks... I've been meaning to change it... it's been like that for years now" I force out an awkward laugh and shove my hands in my pockets. Blonde hair fanning around my face as I look down in embarrassment.

"Well, looks like you've got somewhere to go. Won't hold you up." His voice gentle, and sincere.

I lightly smile and proceed to walk out of the park, a faint blush still lingering on my cheeks.

I'll have to tell Addy all about this.
