I knew that after my father died, I would never be the same person again. I wasn't the happy-go-lucky girl anymore. I was a walking emotional disaster. I had tantrums, had anger management issues, and was starting to skip school. I nearly got expelled twice and nearly went to jail 3 times. The child psychologist mom and Luke got me didn't help at all thank you very much. All she did was ask me how I feel and tell me some ways to control my anger. HELLO?! MY FATHER WAS JUST BRUTALLY MURDER IN FRONT OF ME AND YOU WANT ME TO PAINT A PICTURE?!?!?! Of course I didn't tell her that, so I just smiled and nodded my head to get it over with already.
After we left the psychologist, Mom suggested to go to the Mall and get Ice cream at Baskin Robins. It was infuriating to see this lady-- who was supposedly married to my father-- wanted to go for ice cream afterwards so I told her I was meeting up with Vicky and Blake in a few minutes. She looked like she was about to somber, but she quickly plastered a fake smile on. "Sure, sweetie, anything you want. What time are you going to be home because I have a meeting at 8 " she said looking at her watch. "Um, well its actually a sleepover at Vicky's house. We were sort of planning to go to the movies at 6", I replied, picking up my bag ask I got out of the car. "Oh. Well if its ok with her mom, its fine with me" she says while smiling gleefully. "Okay, Mom, see you later..." I trailed off with a sad smile.
I'll come back soon and visit. I promise. I thought as I began the three blocks bus station. I wasn't really going to Vicky's house. I needed to find out who those people were and why they killed my father. I would not return home until I found out. I planned this all last week, and luckily managed to bring my credit card, which I needed to withdraw all of the money, and some clothes, food, and two pocket knives. I left it all in a bag at the public library, where I would first start with researching Lorenzo's name. As I walked, I began to think back to the other night. Were there really vampires in this world? If so, were there other monsters in the world? how do I know if my best friend isn't a monster too? As I continued to think, I managed to get to the library before closing time.
The library was very tiny compare to the one Luke took me when I was little near the beach. This library only had 1 floor with at least 8 shelves on each side. There was a desk where the ancient librarian sat and beside her was one of the biggest books I've ever seen. It was as big one of those couch pillows and probably had more than 500 pages, that's for sure. There were only 3 computers, 2 being occupied so I slide into the seat as I turned the computer on. It took at least, 5 minutes to start up, and 10 minutes for me to actually remember how to use a windows computer. At my old school, we always had macs or iPads, but it's been ages since I last used anything but my phone.
When it finally started up, I went straight to Google and searched for "Vampires in Ohio". About 5,000 results showed up, but most had nothing to do with the topic. Some showed about blood robberies, or songs that had the words "Vampire" and "Ohio". I then went to google images, and searched for the name, "Lorenzo Pilratti". To me, the last name would probably be from France, Italy, Latin, Greek or Spain. I continued to scroll through the images, I plugged in my earphones and pressed shuffle on my iPod. It began to play Just A Dream by Nelly. I softly hummed the chorus as I continued to scroll. One picture caught my eye. It was Lorenzo with a woman, a man, and a little girl. I clicked on the picture which took me to a history website. There was the picture again with many more of Lorenzo and the little girl playing. Under the picture with him and the adults, words were written underneath it. They were obviously not english so i copied and pasted it to google translate. When it finished translating a pop up blocked the translation saying: You may not access this computer. Shut down in 3..2..1 Then the computer completely shut off leaving me staring at the computer blankly. I looked around to see if anyone noticed this but then realized that no one was here. I guess the libraries closed then I thought as I collected my stuff and began to look for a place to stay when I ran into a burly looking man...
