Chapter 16

Thanksgiving Day

Marissa's POV

I woke up in my bed, cozy and comfortable.

I don't wanna get up but I know that today is gonna be a great day. Usually my mom, sister and I, all go out to eat at a fancy restaurant and then come home and watch thanksgiving themed movies or whatever sounds good to watch at the time on TV.

I grab my phone and unplug it from the charger and sit-up to see that it's 9:45

I get out of bed, and connect my phone to my Bluetooth speaker in my bathroom

I shower and shave and do what I need to and get out after about an hour

I wrap my favorite fluffy towel around my body and walk into my closet

Even though I'm just going to Kayla's, everybody was still gonna dress nice

I slip on a strapless bra with some cute matching underwear

I look through my dresses and find the perfect one

I bought it with Kayla one day when we were shopping and I haven't worn it yet

I set it down on my bed while I get ready

As my music plays, I plug in my curling iron

I curl my hair loosely so I don't look like I have a mop head like Shirley Temple

After that, I put in some hair spray to hold it in place

I don't wear tons of make up, so I only put on mascara, a tiny bit of concealer under my eyes and a light pink nude color for lipstick. My skin has always been really good so I rarely use foundation

I look at the time to see that it's almost noon

I put on my favorite lotion from PINK all over my body and wait for it to 'dry'

After about 5 minutes, I pull on the dress and look in the mirror

I don't say this often about myself, but god damn I look hot

I laugh to myself as my mom and sister walk in

"Oh hey guys, what's up?"

"You look beautiful Marissa." My mom says and hugs me, I hug back

"Thanks mom" I smile and hug Georgi

"We just came in to tell you to have fun today and that we'll see you tomorrow since you're staying the night at Kayla's"

I nod and put on my heels

I grab my overnight bag along with my purse, and putting everything that I need into it and walk out to my car

I drive to Kayla's and once I get there I see that only her car is there

I get out, locking my car up and go inside

"You're favorite person is here to help!" I say as I put my purse on the living room

I take my heels off and set them down by the couch

"Hey you're early! Go put your bags up in my room and shut the door" she says from the kitchen

I do as she says and put a pair of sweats and a t-shirt over my dress until it gets closer to them all coming over go over to her

So what're you doing right now?" I look over at her doing something with the over

"Well I just put the turkey in so there's that. You can start on the chicken wings. You have to made the special sauce for them. It's my recipe that I made for Kalin and he's in love with it so they have to be on the dinner table tonight or he's gonna cry." I giggle and nod when I get a big bowl down and put my hair up into a bun, making sure that I don't ruin my hair
