Poem: The Beasts Within

Baby blue eyes,
So innocent and fare.
They caught you by surprise,
You're trapped within the stare,
Of an angel trapped within,
Within her thoughts.
Thinking she has sinned.

All they hear are coughs,
The coughs of disease.
The sound of sickness,
The sound she seizes.

She shows happiness,
Hidden beneath those angelic eyes.
Are hidden stories filled with horror,
Tears that can rise.
Within her is an explorer..

The more she thinks,
The more her thoughts wonder.
The more they scream out and wink,
The more she gets fonder.

Hidden within,
Are beasts unseen.
She grabs a bottle of gin,
The half empty bottle gleams.

The more she drank,
The more blur she saw.
Her emptiness has sank,
Her throat felt raw.

The bottle was empty,
Her body was soulless.
The gun within her hand was hefty,
She felt heartless.

She held the trigger within her hand,
Counted her sins one by one.
Her spirit will soon roam the land,
This was a sick little game people played for fun.

A quick game of Russian Roulette,
She pulled the trigger.
Her silhouette hitting the floor,
The spilt blood puddle got bigger.

The beasts within,
Made her believe.
She counted her sins,
While she let the beasts win.

That was the end,
Of the girl with the angelic stare.
Her heart was in amends,
The blood spilt was getting faded and rare.

This was the end,
Of the girl who cried.
Her feeling were bent,
Her spirit finally died.

So the girl grabbed the gun,
After one quick hide.
She played along for fun,
Than she said goodbye.
