"Wake up you little-OW! I burnt myself again!"
I bolted up right and ran into the kitchen where Yequisha had yelled for me. She glared at me,"this is your fault, if you had come quicker this wouldn't have happened Shaniqua!" She was yelling at me. "I'm sorry ok! I didn't know I had to be sonic to live in this house and save you from flaming pancakes!" I grabbed a burnt pancake. Yequisha was never good at cooking, when I was 4 she had just taken ownership of me and she told me the pancakes were "blackened" like the way you cook a fish. She told me it was high end cooking, but reality of it was the pancakes were just burnt. To this day I guess they still are.

Later that day Yequisha was trying to make her self look all fancy for an online date. She had gotten an odd looking golden weave to match her glittery make up. "It's from some crazy guy off the street, he said it had powers or something, but he gave it to me for five bucks! The only powers this thing really has is to make me look booty-ful tonight." Yequisha seemed so proud of her golden get-up.

I heard a little knock at the door and then a little girl's giggles. I opened the door to see a girl around my age-13-with a dress way to small for her. Her name tag said Kaitlyn. Maybe around 11 years old? She had a bunch of pins that she said were badges of some random achievements. "Want some girls scout cookies?" She asked sweetly. My eyes became bigger than my stomach. "HELL YEAH!" I grabbed all the boxes and slammed the door with my foot before she changed her mind. I heard her knock on the door again. "We don't want anymore thanks though, you can come back in like a week," I yelled. "I think she wants money," said Yequisha. "Why?" "She was SELLING the cookies Shaniqua!" I got confused. "Well she should have made that clear!" The little girl was banging on the door now screaming. I opened the door and she wooshed over my shoulder onto the red couch across the room where Yequisha was doing her make up. The girl hit her ankle on the coffee table but that didn't stop her. She yanked at Yequisha's hair. Both of them screamed and I ran down the short hall way to my room and got a base ball bat out of the closet then ran back. "THREE STRIKES YOU'RE OUT!" I screamed as I hit her three times in the stomach then Yequisha gave her a good punch in the head. She was knocked out on the floor. I searched her body for anything type of weapon. Yequisha immediately wanted to insult her, "She looked like a slu-" "I found a card." We both went silent. In this small apartment on the wrong side of town known as my home I had the body of a murdering thief. So bad and yet so good at what she does, so many reports leading to just one name. Laquandra. She was just knocked out by Yequisha. This was impossible to comprehend. I turned to Yequisha and showed her the card. She read it aloud, "LAQUANDRA: YOUR NEWEST FACE OF DEATH AND EVIL."

"She wanted the weave, you need to protect it. You need to control it. It's for you Shaniqua." Yequisha looked dead serious, but I could still barely believe She handed it to me and I put it in my pocket. I felt powerful but at the same time I felt it weigh down my pocket. This will be a heavy burden to carry.

"Where do you hide a body?" Yequisha asked Siri. Siri replies with "what, again?" Yequisha was mad, "THIS ISNT A JOKE SIRI!" "Ok" Yequisha chucked her phone at a wall and it shattered into little fragments of cell chips and glass. I whispered "thanks Siri" and chuckled to myself. Yequisha was stressed out. "We need to call someone, we need to do something, this can't be happening Shaniqua." I started thinking then my gaze traveled to the window. "Do we have a body bag?" I asked. "Of corse, that's how I get snacks into movies, they don't suspect a thing!" I looked straight at her. "Ohhhh" she said with realization. "There's a pick up truck outside, I'll hot wire it while you get her in the bag, I'll come back and we can get her into the back together." That was the plan and we stuck to it.

I was driving and Yequisha was in the back with knocked out Laquandra to Make sure she stays out. I've known how to drive since I was 7 so this was nothing. We were going to the bad side of town to drop Laquandra off in an ally. The ride was 20 minutes and Laquandra stayed knocked out the whole time. When we got there I hopped out and looked around. I was surrounded on three sides by brick walls, this would be a bad situation to be if I were being cornered. I looked into a slightly open door and I saw an old grey room full of crap and dust. It had bubble rap and plastic on the floor, the windows were boarded up and there was no furniture except a single cracked mirror in the corner. I looked at the mirror and began seeing images of a little girl, around 5. She was wearing the Girl Scout outfit... It was Kaitlyn. Then some how the girl transformed into a Laquandra. Then the images vanished and I found myself just standing in front of this broken mirror after I just witnessed a broken life. The life of Kaitlyn ... the life of Laquandra. It all hit me. She didn't steal the dress, it was her dress, the badges were all hers, the Girl Scout cookies were old expired leftovers, and somewhere along the line that little girl just... Cracked. She shattered and the remanence was Laquandra.

I heard Yequisha yelling from outside. I felt the weave in my pocket and all of a sudden adrenalin took over, the weave took over, everything took over except for me. I ran out and saw Laquandra on the back of Yequisha looking for the weave as well as strangling Yequisha. Then she quickly turned towards me and looked at my pocket as if she could see through. She tackled me but I pushed her to the ground then ran, but I felt the weave get heavier in my pocket. The adrenalin slowly stopped and everything started getting blurry. I was on my knees then my stomach and the last thing I saw was Laquandra's grin, I felt her take the weave, and I heard her evil laugh.
