Bilbo's POV
I raced past all of the bright gardens, questioning hobbits, and the endless hills of Bag End. I nearly tripped several times, my bare feet flying down the pebbly path. I saw the company down the road on their ponies and I quickened my pace.
"WAIT!!! WAIT!!!", I called to them. They all came to a halt and stared at me. I got extremely nervous at the fact that I had all of their eyes on me- except for Thorin's, that is. The amount of pride that handsome bastard has.
Anyways, all of the surprised expressions I saw quickly turned to smiles. "Welcome back, Bilbo lad." said Balin. I smiled and nodded as everyone gave me smiles and waves and "we knew you'd join us". I felt happy to be with them, but still nervous about the danger and the company's expectations of me.
Thorin's POV
I knew he'd come back. I didn't turn around because I have to seem disgusted with him, but really while my back was turned I smiled. A real smile. One that has been absent from my face for quite a while now. I don't know what it is about our burglar but I think I will like him being a part of my company.
Gandalf looked at Bilbo and welcomed him back. Then he looked at me and just chuckled. Instantly my smile disappeared and I replaced it with that scowl I always wear. There. That feels better. I don't know what that wizard is thinking in his head but I think he knows about how I feel. I just hope that Bilbo feels the same.
