Bilbo Baggins agreed to go on the journey with Thorin and company because Gandalf asked him to, and Gandalf was a friend. But he didn't expect to find love...and definitely not with the most unexpected person ever. The others don't understand, even threaten to shun them...but can Bilbo stand up for the one he loves, and the only love that he's ever understood? Thorin, son of Thrain, is a Dwarven prince in the kingdom of Erebor. He lives in the Lonely Mountain with his siblings Frerin and Dis, his father Thrain and his grandfather, Thror. Thorin's life feels empty, he doesn't have luck with women and forging is the only thing to get him away from his dark thoughts. Until one day, a hobbit appears. He seems like he has been wandering alone in the wild for a long time. He doesn't tell much about himself or his past. His past seem to haunt him. Still, Thorin deems the hobbit trustworthdy and decides to give him shelter. The company of this dwarf makes the hobbit, Bilbo, feel safe and at ease. Bilbo, for his part, makes Thorin feel loved and happier than ever. They realize that they have feelings for each other. But what happens when Thorin's family finds out about the affair? And what about Bilbo's dark past...?

"The Bagginses! Tell me, who is it that you spoke with, Thorin. Are you also on first-name terms with these visitors from the west?" Thorin brought his teeth together, he still spoke too much and often, a poor habit that his young nephews were beginning to pick up. His eyes were drawn towards the south-side barracks, where the city of Dale sat in the distance; he allowed his mind to wander to the curly-haired, bright-eyed fellow that had shouted at him earlier. The story is the same, thirteen dwarves, a hobbit and a wizard set out on a quest to free the kingdom of erebor from the clutches of smaug the terrible. But this time they are joined by someone quite different on this journey... an elf maid. When finding out who she truly is will the company be able to accept her as one of there own? And how will the others react when they find out Kili has fallen for her? Will Thorin be able to forget his past ignorance of the elves? A hobbit wants friends, good books, and comfortable chairs. Bilbo does his best to carve out a little hobbit life for himself in the mountain. If only there were not one final obstacle. Soon, she meets a funny creature named Bilbo Baggins. A Hobbit of all things. Before she knows it, she is living among the Hobbits of the Shire until the unexpected arrival of Dwarves at Bilbo's doorstep. Haley is swept along on their quest to reclaim their homeland from a fire-breathing dragon. The dangers of their quest brings them all together as friends and even family as she searches for a way home. However as the journey goes on, Haley begins to wonder if she even wants to go back... (As a note: this story will NOT contain any romance between Haley and any of the canon characters. All relationships with her will be strictly platonic. There will be romance in the way of Kili and Taurial, but I plan to make their relationship more believable and realistic. Also, this will contain Bagginshield. That means that Thorin and Bilbo will be getting together. The rating of this story may go up to mature due to how I may write the battle scenes. We'll see.)

Getting drunk is never a good idea. Especially around elves and dwarfs (not to mention when you're madly infatuated with the leader of said dwarfs). And getting drunk for the first time? Bilbo is small, but he feels much more than he lets on. Hiding behind a respectful nod and a blinding smile he thinks he can manage. For as long as he needs to, he can hide behind his smile. He'll protect his friends from the venom brewing within his mind and his heart - why? Because he's Bilbo Baggins of course. And Bagginses are above all else, respectable.
