I tried to calm myself. This is the worst time to loose myself to fear. Raven Mockers can sense fear. But holy shit. A Raven Mocker. What the hell am I supposed to do now? These things a vicious animals that slaughter without a second thought. Plus, they have a tendancy to sudduce women into having their damned, Raven babies.
Shit!I was in such shock that I was frozen in place. Just staring at the crater thinking of all the bad things that could happen. My mind was racing, trying to figure out an escape plan. I shook my head, stood up and began running back to my House Of Night.
The Raven Mocker let out a screech so horrid that it sent chills down my spine. I kept running, pushing on. It let out another mennacing screech. I stopped. It sounded like it was in pain. And a lot of it. I mean, the poor bastard just feel thousands of feet and slammed into the ground.
I stood there starring at the little glimps of my House Of Night that I could see, thinking. Deeply thinking. My feet slowly began to turn myself around and from where I was standing I could see the crater.
"Ah, hell," I said, mad at myself for what I was about to do.I began walking, taking my sweet time, back to the crater. I peered over the edge at the beast. It was now in a more spread out possition. Now I could see it's full form. I tilted my head, astonished at the figure of this creature. I had never seen one in real life, only read about them in my school books. It's feathers were as back as night. The full figure of the body of a raven, even massive, outspread wings, besides the humam legs, arms and eyes. "H-hello. . .?" I said in a sweeter voice than I intended to. The beast didn't really move except for a little twitch at the shoulders. I looked down and saw the tip of one of it's wings hanging over the edge of the crater by my foot. I got down o my knees and looked at the tip of the wing intensly. It was so beautiful. The plumage was so shiny and looked silky smooth. I slowly reached my hand out to stroke the wing. When my fingers touched the feathers, they were the softest things I had ever felt in my life. I lightly ran my fingers through them to the tip of the wing.
I let out a pleasured sigh at how beautiful and amazingly soft this scary creature actually was. "Wow. . ." I sighed. I went to touch the wing again to feel the softness of it, when all of the sudden the massive wing flew up and smacked me over onto my side. This made me let out a quick scream that I quicky covered with my hand. I felt a sharp pain on my cheeck. I lifted my other hand to it and pulled it away slowly. Sure enough, the scarlet blood was all over my hand. I wiped it on my jeans and pushed myself up off the ground.
"Earth, come to me!" I said, as I felt my element surround me. "Please, help me carry it. . ." I felt a whisp of cold air on my cheeck, then saw the green, glowing haze go from my outstreatched hands to the crater, and the beast slowly bagan to rise up out of the crater.
"Follow me, please, Earth," I lifted my one finger and held it in the air beside my head as I began to walk through the woods to an old, abbandoned, town that wasn't too far away. I looked behind me and saw the beast, floating on it's back in the air, encased in my element's green haze, gracefully floating behind me as I walked.
I eventually made it to an old barn in the abbandoned town, opened it's large doors, walked inside and said, "Earth, you can set it down in here on the floor, please." As I lightly flicked my finger towards me, seeing the green haze encased beast float in the doors and set gently on the floor of the barn. After it was laid on the floor, my element returned to me, the green haze floating about me, "Thank you, Earth. You may depart now." I felt a little gust of wind as my element left. I walked around the beast, closed the doors of the barn, and turned back around to figure out what the hell I was going to do now.
When I turned around I was staring straight into the peircing red eyes of the Raven Mocker. It was bent down so that it's eyes were level with mine. I backed up against the doors as much as I could, but it leaned in closer when I moved back. At this point my mind was exploding with fear and I breathing so fast I was making it hard on myself to breathe. I wanted to yell for it to back up, but I'm sure that'd just anger it. So I stayed quiet as it just stared at me with it's eerily human like eyes.
I saw movement at it's side, so I glanced down and saw it lifting it's hand, like it wanted to touch me, but as it did so, it let out an ear piercing screech, fell to the ground, curled up into a ball, grasping it's abdomen. I had compassion for the creature. As I do with all animals. Well. . . I don't think I can classify this beast as an animal. . . But it was part raven. . . And part human.
I took a step towards it, but it shot its head up and glared at me. It made a hissing noise which made me stutter back. I shoock my head, bent down, slowly held out my hands and said in a calm voice, "I ain't gonna hurt ya. I'm tryin' a help ya. Okay?" I held out my hand, palm down, and it just looked at it for a moment, then attempted to push itself back away from me. I sighed, dropped my hand, and looked down. "Okay. . . I understand. I know. Usually us vampires and you," I stuttered over the word, "Raven Mockers. . . Don't exactly get along. . . But I promise, I want to help. I hate seeing things in pain. I have a soft spot for it. I can't help myself when I see a situation that I could possibly improve. And then you fell infront of me and. . ." I then realized that I was babbling on infront of a thing that could kill me at any possible second if it really wanted to. "I, um. . . Stay here. . . Please, I'll be right back." I stumbled backwards, felt around on the barn door for the handle, pulled and struggled to open it. I looked back and saw the creature staring at me. But it looked at if it was staring at me with wonder and curiousity. I gave a slight okie smile and headed out the door, shut it behind me and headed home to get the supplies I was going to need.
