(An hour later)

(Harry's POV)

I took one last brush through my long hair and washed my hands.

I grabbed my keys and headed out of the door. I also grabbed my phone and texted Ari that I was about to pick her up.

As I hopped in and started my car, I turned on the radio as Remembering Sunday by All Time Low played.

I backed out of the driveway and started to make my way to Ari's.

Tonight is going to be awesome... I hope.

(Ari's POV)

I got a text from Harry. He's on his way. I can't wait for this date!

I put on a little more lipstick as I grabbed my small purse off of the top shelf in my room. It matches my dress. It's a red and black Channel purse with three little charms on the buckle. It's very pretty.

I got it from my mom when I was 13. She was still alive too.

My mom died a year and a half ago from breast cancer. I miss her a lot. It's hard because when I have bad times and drama, I'd usually talk to her about it. Now I don't have her to do that now.

And it's not all that easy talking about stuff to my dad. It's different he's a guy. He can't really relate to me since I'm a girl. I'm also a teenager.

But then again I have Harry. But again he's a guy. It's hard but I don't know.

I shouldn't be thinking about this. All I should be thinking about right now is my date with Harry. It'll be fun.

He should be here soon too.

I check my phone for any texts. I have one from my dad.

(Text Convo)

Dad👨🏽: Do you have any plans tonight? Because I have two coupons to the new restaurant down the street. My friend Angela works there too.

Angela?

Me: Yeah I have plans with Harry. But I'm free tomorrow night?

I feel bad about not accepting my dads offer over Harry. But what Harry has been telling me about the running back and forth, working so hard on this 'surprise' for me? How can I tell my dad yes. He's been telling me that it's important. So what choice do I have?

Dad👨🏽: Oh okay that's fine. Just as long as you're back by 11 it's all good.

Me: Okay. Bye dad love you.

Dad👨🏽: love you too pumpkin! 👨🏾🎃🎃🎃🎃

He uses too many emojis I swear.

Walked into the bathroom for one last check.

My makeup was good, my hair was good, outfit great actually.

I smiled.

I felt so confident. Knowing that I felt great and even greater to be with Harry soon is just amazing. I'm so happy tonight and it just won't shake. Well besides the mom thoughts...not to bring it up again.

I looked at the time on my phone.

7:01. Harry could be here any minute.

All of a sudden the doorbell went off.

Harry.

I shut the light in the bathroom off and walked out.

I started to smile as I made my way down the stairs to the door.

As soon as I open the front door, I see Harry in a black and white tux. His hair was brushed back and he had cologne on that smelled really good. He LOOKED really good.

"Wow." I managed to say.

His jaw was dropped.

"Woah," he says, pushing his hair back a bit more.

"You look great," we say in unison.

He smiles.

"Shall we?"

He holds out his arm and smiles.

I link my arm into his as we walk out to his car. He looks so good. I've never seen Harry so dressed up. He should dress up more often. It's suits him well. Almost too well.

He rushed over to my side to open the car door for me.

"Wow Harry. What a gentleman," I said as I peck him on the cheek.

"Well for you, of course I will be a gentleman babe."

I blush at the sound of his way of saying, 'babe' it just sounded so cute coming from Harry.

He starts the car.

"Before we continue," he begins.

He reached over into the back seat and grabbed a bandana.

"I need you to put this over both of your eyes."

He takes my hand and I grip the bandana.

I shrug.

"This isn't a murder plan is it?" I ask.

He chuckles.

"No I promise. Just put it on and trust me."

I do as I'm told and tied it around my head and putting it over my face.

"Good."

I feel the car beginning to move.

I wonder where's taking me to have my eyes covered. It must be something special...I keep getting the feeling it wasn't going to be just an ordinary date. I feel like there's something good planned. Like prom...

I keep getting that feeling. Am I just worried he's not going to ask me to prom right now? Is that why all I think about is him asking me?

Maybe I just need to chill. It's going to happen when it's going to happen. Why assume and rush into some weird topic when we're not even at this mystery place yet.

"You excited?" He says breaking my thoughts.

"Yeah," I reply.

I can tell he's smiling right now.

"So... I think my dad has a girlfriend."

Harry gasps.

"Why would you think that? Does he bring her over all of the time?"

I shake my head.

"No. I never even met or seen her. My dad just said something about wanting to take me out to this restaurant. But the thing is all of a sudden he brings up a women he knows that works there. Apparently her name is Angela."

"That's good right? I mean isn't time he moves on and finds someone new in his life?"

I sigh.

"I dunno."

"Come on now Ari. Your moms been gone a long while. Since he was with her when was the last time you've seen your dad happily in a relationship?"

Harry does have a good point. Not that my dad wasn't happy but about him having a live life was true. I bet he wasn't really enjoying my dating life until he got used to it. So maybe I'll just have to get used to him being with someone other than my mom.
