1. Joy rides
'Woo baby! Feel that Markie boy? That is the sweet sweet feeling of freedom!'
Jackson's voice is loud, almost a screech over the sound of the heavy hip hop music blaring in the car. His head is hanging out of the window ,rain pelting onto his skin whilst one hand grips onto his snapback for dear life and his mouth sits wide open in a grin as Mark resists the urge to roll his eyes at how mental his best friend looks.
'Dude, you look like professor Lu's Golden Retriever.' He snorts, returning his eyes back to the road, but a grin makes it's way onto his face nonetheless.
Jackson just cackles, shaking his head.'We all know I'd be the most majestic of dogs dude - come on. Anyway, this is the old guys car, it does kinda smell of wet dog in here.'
'You will be a wet dog if you don't stick your head back in here.And anyway, I didn't see you complaining when you were practically making out with the paintjob on it's bonnet earlier.' Mark laughs at the way the rain hits Jackson's face, the other flinching when a drop lands in his eye and he shakes his head, immediately ducking back into the car with a pout.
'True, just simply couldn't pass up on the opportunity to take a ride in this bad boy.' Jackson grins, wiping water droplets from his face. 'It's new after all.'
Mark grins, hand twisting the steering wheel as Jackson fiddles with the dial on the stereo, turning the music up so loud that the car is practically vibrating.
The city lights are fading a little behind them as they speed further into forest territory, the car headlights their only source of light as they barrell down the roads stretching infront of them.
All of the cars windows are open wide, the winter nights air tugging at his hair and his school blazer that he'd been too lazy to remove as he and Jackson had snuck into the teachers parking lot right after afternoon detention had finished.
This is perfect.Mark thinks, mind empty of worrysome thoughts and nagging teachers for once as he lets the exhileration and excitement wash over him.
He's not stupid though, he knows he and Jackson will be in trouble before they even reach the school gates, because who wouldn't get in trouble for stealing a teachers brand new expensive car and joyriding at midnight during a storm?
And of course, he and Jackson would be the first targets, because noone else is stupid enough to do what they do.(Have fun, live a little.)
Mark wouldn't call it stupid.More like...adventurous?
His smile intensifies as he makes a sharp turn, tires skidding across the gravel as Jackson cheers again, breaking out into his signature hyena laugh when Mark lets out a cheer of his own because god does it feel good to be alive.
It's probably too dangerous to be speeding so much in the middle of a storm, the roads slippery and the windshield coated in thousands of droplets of rain but Mark can't find it in himself to care. He's always had a hard time with obeying rules, eager to push himself to his limit and Jackson's just as eager, so whats the harm right?
'Dude, Jaebum totally owes me a months worth of pudding from the cafeteria now!' Jackson claps his hands together, eyes bright and Mark chuckles, the sound probably lost in the sound of the music and the engine as he skids through another corner.
'He never thought we'd break into Prof Lu's car and take it for a ride.I can't wait to claim my pudding.'
'Could you not have bargained for something more...useful instead of damn pudding?'
