Lights were flashing, voices we shouting. There was a blanket of darkness engulfing me, making it near impossible to see. I tried to scream out but no sound escaped my opened mouth. “NIALL!” Where did that voice come from? “NO NIALL!” The voice was fading, but I wanted it to stay near. “Niall you can’t leave me.” Can’t leave who? I’m not leaving anyone! If anything, they’re leaving me! Suddenly the blanket of darkness was gone and light flooded into my eyesight. I saw a mirage of a boy, or should I say, man. He had wild, curly brown hair, piercing green eyes, and a gorgeous crooked grin. He reached his hands out to me, and I placed mine in them. His were much larger than mine, but that didn’t matter, as my hands moulded perfectly to fit his outstretched palms. I lifted my head to meet his eyes, and I was almost blown away by the intensity emitting from the dazzling green orbs. Within them, pure love was seen, and I felt like nothing could ever hurt me. His grin changed into a full blown smile and he let go of my hands, only to pull me into a bone crushing hug. I gasped at the sudden change, but soon melted into his hold. After what felt like forever, he pulled back from the hug, and cupped my face in his large hands. I watched his eyes as he smiled down at me, and began to lower his head down to meet mine. Before we connected, he brushed his lips across mine and whispered, “I love you.” He then smashed his lips onto my own, and began to kiss me passionately. As I wrapped my arms around his neck, he moved his hands down to my waist, pulling me as close as possible to his body. The kiss was intense, but full of love and certainty. As we pulled away, we rested our foreheads on each other, breathing heavily. He stroked my cheek tenderly, and then kissed where his hands left tingles. “I will find you Niall.” He whispered. All of a sudden, he began to fade away into the light. ‘No! Come back!’ I tried to scream, but to no avail. He just chuckled and then he was gone. My perfect angel had disappeared, leaving me confused and with an aching heart. Who was he? The darkness started to reappear, and I felt myself trying to get away from it. Soon it surrounded me, and I could feel no more.

***Niall’s POV***
Slowly my eyes fluttered open to the blinding light. I had to blink three or four times to get used to the brightness, and rubbed them to get rid of the sleep that formed. Once I was awake, I looked around my surroundings, trying to figure out where I was. I didn’t recognise anything in the room. I sat up and groaned, as I realised I had moved to fast. The room was painted a plain cream colour, with white curtains and a white lace underneath, covering the windows. The window was open, letting in a warm breeze and the sound of birds chirping. I turned my body and placed my feet on the dark cream carpet, letting the softness tickle my toes. I was about to stand up when the door slowly opened. A man walked in, carrying what looked like food on a tray. He didn’t notice me sitting there staring at him, and placed the tray on the bedside table. He looked up and jumped a little when he saw me looking at him intensely. His brown eyes widened, and he came running up to me and engulfing me in a hug. I sat there awkwardly, as I had no idea who this incredibly attractive man was. I think he sensed my awkwardness as he pulled back and knelt down in front of me, holding my hands in his. For some reason, even though our hands fit together, it didn’t feel right. I stared down into his caramel-brown eyes, and in them was love, and something else that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, and that scared me.

“James.” The man breathed. Was he talking to me? Was that my name? “You’re awake! I’m so glad you’re awake. You were starting to scare me!” I just stared at him blankly, I have no idea what’s going on right now. His head tilted in confusion. “J-james?”

“Who- Who are y-you?” My voice cracked from not being used in a while. Horror filled his features, and then sadness. I felt sadness fill my own body, and I rested a hand on his shoulder. “I’m sorry. It’s just… I don’t know who you are. I want to know, but I just can’t. Please, tell me and we can work this out.” I lifted his chin so that our eyes met. I gave him a reassuring smile, and he relaxed. Sighing, he got up off the floor and walked over to the beside table, grabbing the tray and making his way back to me.

“I bring you breakfast every day, just in case you woke. Like today!” He explained, after I had curiously looked at the food. I made a small ‘Oh’, and moved backwards onto the bed, crossing my legs so there was more room for him to sit. Once we had both settled, and I was happily eating the cereal, the mysterious man started to speak. “Now, I guess you’re wondering who I am, and how you got here, yes?” I nodded sheepishly and he chuckled. “Okay, so my name is Zayn Malik, and you are James Neil. A couple of weeks ago, you were in an… accident. You tried to… to commit s-suicide.” My eyes widened in shock, and then trailed down to my wrists, where they were angry scabs, in a straight line as if I had cut them. Realisation hit me when I figured that yes, I had cut them, and had indeed tried to kill myself. But why? I tilted my head in confusion, and Zayn answered my unspoken question. “You were going through a really rough time, but I won’t dwell on the details, as you seem to have forgotten them and I want to keep it that way. If that’s okay with you of course.” I nodded meekly, and he continued. “We live in Australia, which I brought you too from England, cause I wanted to get you away from all the stuff that made you depressed.”

“Okay.” I interrupted Zayn’s speech, as I had heard enough for now. “So, um, how old am I?” Zayn grinned.

“18.” My mouth formed an “oh.” “That also means that you have to go to school, cause you missed most of it before you… um you know…”

“Yeah. Okay sounds good. What do I wear though?”

“Well schools here have to wear uniforms, which I bought you the other day. I just used the sizing of your other clothes, so hopefully they fit. You start tomorrow.”

“Thanks Zayn.” I held his hand, not knowing what else I should do. He smiled warmly at me, and leaned in. I didn’t move, hell I didn’t WANT to move, so I let him place his lips on mine. He kissed me full of love, but there was a hint of lust there too, and for some reason this kiss didn’t feel right either. I liked it, and I mean, REALLY liked it, but it was just… off. I dunno. I pulled away and rested my forehead against his. I opened my eyes, and for some reason I expected to see green, but instead found caramel brown. And for some reason, I felt slightly disappointed. He must’ve sensed this, because he sighed heavily and turned to place his feet on the carpet.

“I’ll just.. Let you get some rest yeah?” He looked so deflated that it made me feel bad for making him so.

“No, wait.” He stopped and turned towards me. “I was thinking, maybe we could go out? You know, show me around a bit? I’ve never seen Australia before.” I said shyly. Zayn hesitated for a bit, before walking back over to me and helping me stand.

“Of course we can.” He pecked my lips lightly. “And I’m sorry for making you feel uncomfortable before. It’s just, I haven’t kissed you in two weeks, and I needed to…” He flushed a shade of pink before looking at the ground embarrassed by his confession. I kissed the corner of his mouth, letting my lips linger there for a second longer than normal.

“It’s okay. I understand. This is all just a little new to me is all.” He smiled a little, grabbed my hand and pushed me into the bathroom.

“You need to take a shower. I’ll leave your clothes on the bed. Come find me when you’re done!!”

After having a loooongg shower (the water felt so good), I hopped out and wrapped a towel on my lower half, letting it hang low on my hips. Remembering that Zayn had put some clothes out on the bed for me, I flung the door open and strutted out. I stopped dead in my tracks, as I saw Zayn sitting on the bed smirking at me. “Uh.. I-I… um…” I stuttered, feeling awkward as his eyes raked up and down my body. Next to him sat my clothes, and it was obvious that I was going to have to go get them, so I slowly made my way towards the bad, and Zayn. I could feel him watching me as I walked, and I was praying that my towel didn’t somehow fall off. I looked at Zayn and was shocked by his eyes that we filled with pure lust. Quickly, I snatched my clothes from beside him and sprinted into the bathroom. I put some clothes on, and styled my hair up into a quiff, making sure I looked good, before walking out the bathroom again, this time FULLY CLOTHED. Surprisingly, Zayn wasn’t in the room, so I walked out my bedroom, down the stairs and into the living room, where I found him waiting on the couch. He must’ve heard me coming, as he stood and stared at me. I blushed and looked down, and when I looked up again, he was openly gaping at me. I turned a deep shade of red, and slowly walked towards him. I took in what he was wearing, and my god did he look hot. He was wearing a plain white button up skivvy, a grey denim jacket, grey skinny jeans, and had his hair styled up in a quiff, quite like mine, but sexier (from my point of view anyways). He smiled his dazzling smile and said, “Ready to go babe?” Gah I think I just died. I nodded and he grabbed hold of my hand. We walked out the door and I looked around.

“Welcome to Australia James.”
