RECAP

We walked out the door and I looked around.

“Welcome to Australia James.”

***Harry’s POV*** Song: Make The Money by Maklemore and Ryan Lewis

The icy London weather whipped my hair across my face as I walked along the dimly lit road. Early today I had received a text saying ‘Meet me on the main road, 11pm sharp. Don’t be late. Bring the money.’ I shoved my hands into the long Burberry coat that I was wearing, and glanced around. There was one lone car parked on the side of the deserted road, and I felt for the money in my pocket. I took a deep breath, and started towards the car. It had it’s lights turned off, and it was inconspicuously hidden behind some bushes; if a car came the other way, it would not be seen. I tapped the passenger side window, attracting the attention of the driver. Opening the door, I slid into the warmth of the car, and onto the leather seats. The person sitting in the drivers seat was hidden by shadow, and was dressed in dark clothing.

“Do you have the money?” A deep voice spoke. I nodded silently and handed of the envelope. I sat patiently as he counted the money, making sure it was all there. He hummed in appreciation, and handed me a package. I mumbled a thanks, and was about to exit the car when a hand grabbed me. “Harry.” Damn, I recognised that voice. Liam.

“What the hell are you doing here Liam?” He sighed and rubbed his face.

We’ve been watching you for a while Harry. Louis and I, we’re worried about you.” Worried about me? I snorted. Yeah right. If they were so worried about me, they wouldn’t have let me go back to my house, and wallow in my sadness.

“Huh. Where have you been then?”

“What do you mean?”

“Where. Have. You. Been?” I pronounced each word slowly - well slower than usual. “Where were you when I needed you most? Also where’s Louis? Surely he wouldn’t have let you do this on your own?” Liam was about to interrupt, but I raised a hand silencing him. “Where were you when I was attacked? Where were you when I needed my best friends? Oh no, you said. He’ll be fine, you said. He needs to learn to get over Niall. He’s a big boy, he can handle himself.” I mocked. “Well you know what Liam? I’m not fine, and I’m not over Niall. But that’s okay, cause I’m handling myself. I’m making money. Are you proud? Fuck you Liam. Fuck you and Louis both. Some best fucking friends you are.” I snatched the money-filled envelope out of his hand and opened the car door. Slamming the it shut, I began to stalk away, back down the lonely road.

“Don’t do this Harry.” I stopped in my steps, and swiveled around to face him.

“DON’T DO WHAT LIAM?” I shouted, seething. “DON’T BREAK DOWN? DON’T LOSE IT? WELL GUESS WHAT LIAM. IT’S TOO LATE FOR THAT.” I paused and calmed my breathing. “It’s too late.” Liam didn’t do anything but stand there, face full of shock and sadness. I could see that from here, despite the darkness.

“I’m sorry.” At those words, I turned and started to sprint off down the road.

I jogged up the steps of my run-down flat, sighing as I unlocked the door, and turned on the dim light. Tiredly, I unbuttoned my coat, and lazily chucked it over the ruined couch. Truth is, I’m dead broke. All I can afford is my liquor, and right now, that’s all I need. Walking into the kitchen, I open the fridge and pull out a beer, and a bottle of vodka. Trudging out of the kitchen, down the hallway, and up the stairs to my room, I kicked off my shoes and threw myself onto the bed. Blindly searching around my bedsheets, I find my iPod and shove the earphones in my ears, wanting to block out my thoughts. Scrolling through my playlist I find the perfect song. I press play and turn the volume up as loud as I can handle.
