The Watcher (Mono X reader)

Barely breathing , very still I glanced out from under the table at the massive figure of six. She had burst into the room, knocking over any and every item in search of us.

I feared at any moment she would flip the table we were under and it would be wraps. A loud bang sounded out as she shoved an armchair out of her way. Suddenly her shadow turned to face us, looming over our hiding spot.

I held my breath and glanced over to mono, his figure stiff he held his finger up to his mouth as we both waited in terror. Only a few moments passed before six decided there was nothing more to look under. Miraculously leaving the table alone.

She left the room loudly. Pushing through the door that was much to small for what she had become. Her footsteps started to fade away, finally I let out a quiet sigh of relief. Turning to face him I opened my mouth "I have no idea how we aren't crushed into oblivion right now."

He was faintly amused by my attempt at humor, mouth quirking upwards into a small smile. Even though the atmosphere was tense I was beyond thankful we were together. Imagining going through  any of this alone would be Impossible. "Unfortunately I believe we have to follow her, maybe we can get her back to normal." He spoke after a moment of us relaxing.

I nodded solemnly. Id rather not follow what we just narrowly escaped from. But after everything we all had been through it would have just been cowardly to turn back now.

I moved first out from under the table still keeping quiet as I stood up, I held my hand down to him and he took it as I helped him stand alongside me. The door six had left through was still open.

We walked out of the room into a desolate hallway, taking a left there was a small stairway. "That's the only place she could of gone." He spoke.

"Well let's go." I answered. Heading up the small staircase, held to a stop I glanced to my right in confusion. "What's-" he had found an axe lodged into a door. "Better late then never I guess." He said and we continued up the stairs.

Only for the door to not budge. I turned back around towards where he grabbed the axe. "I guess maybe she went into here..?" He stood in front of the door without a peep raising the axe he began to tear into it. Hit after hit. I quickly moved near him as we entered the gash he had created.

There in the middle of the larger open room I spotted six huddled up.  She was using her lanky deformed arms to protect her prized music box. It must be the only thing keeping her sanity together even just a little. How odd.

Toy blocks floated above the room as we took a few steps closer the area became more of a pinkish glow, six let out a shout of agony, her body flinching. She turned toward us and crawled forward, mono grabbed me by the arm and yanked me through the hole he had created.

With a blink I held my head slightly as we were suddenly across the room from where we had just been moments ago. Six already upon the area. Now behind her I stared. A flickered out of the corner of my eye I noticed mono dash towards her music box axe raised above his head.

He swung down striking it. The room crackled I held my head in my hands at the intensity. It was dark. I squeezed my eyes shut and open again. Feeling a nudge. A quick glance around and I realized I was back outside the room. Mono Held the axe back to the same door. Breaking through once again.

I quickly joined his side walking into the entry. We were going to have to work together. Hopefully following his lead of damaging the music box. Perhaps it was tied all together being the reason she was monstrous now.

I made a shout to get six's attention as we both went back through the entry. Reappearing across the room like before. Six had smashed around the entry we were at moments before from my shout.

I kept up my side of work, being a distraction for mono to get to her music box once it was unguarded. It was difficult seeing as she became ten times more aggressive and upset by our actions.

I winced narrowly dodging her, mono struck her box once more. Darkness happened once more. Just as abrupt as before.

Repeating the same process as before, the room felt alive, intense, and six's aggression was at an all time high.

The ceiling moved and bubbled with some type of mass, I reappointed my attention to six. She was wildly swinging her arms at any entryway she deemed had movement.

Brushing my hair back in frustration and tension I shouted once more from across the room to distract her. She reached my side of the room just as I went into the glowing entry. Walking out from behind the room now I searched for mono who had just started to swing on her music box for the third time.

Bracing myself for impact I squinted my eyes as the room flashed and six made sounds of anger but also fear from monos final hit. I stumbled backwards as the room lit up very dimly.

Monos eyes found mine first as we stared in shock. Our attention went back to her music box. It was still playing a dull lullaby, six had moved back towards it holding onto the box like it was her lifeline. I stared in apprehension as mono moved and grabbed onto his fallen axe.

This didn't seem like the greatest decision. Six seemed tired or scared. I moved away from them both and watched as he swung the axe on her box for the fourth time. She let out another scream.

Unable to really tell what was happening besides all the noises that sounded out. It was a guessing game of confusion. Sparks from the music box flew upwards. Another bang of the axe could be heard as I shielded my face from the chaos.

I heard mono say my name from across the room.
"Y/N?? The box is gone I think six might be finally normal again." Looking ahead the huge form that was once huddled by the box was now back to her regular size.

Six sat up silently. She looked to her left at her crumpled up box. I stood up quickly sensing something off still. We all stood quietly, before it was interrupted by the building shaking.

I stared in horror as a gigantic eyeball formed just above us all on the wall. We all quickly started to sprint out of the room, I was in the very back chasing after them both, mono turned his head and stalled to a jog.

Grabbing my arm he sped us both up to run faster after six. The walls crumbled and fell as everything shook violently. We ran over fallen boxes down the hallway.

Just barely avoiding falling as the massive eyeball followed from behind. With a gasp of fear I uncomfortably realized there were multiple eyes. Almost slipping from not paying attention I was pulled more against his body. Practically glued to him as he kept the pace up.

Ahead was a thin strip of probably concrete. A very small path leading forward. Six already way ahead of us both. I shouted in shocked as pieces of the path began to fall downwards from ahead of us and behind.

There was a glowing TV at the very end of the path, six almost reaching it. Suddenly she seemed to lose her footing almost slipping and falling into the abyss.

My heart beat fearfully against my chest, I felt monos hold shift as he pulled me up and held my body to his in a bridal hold. He ran faster than before.

Six seemed as if she was waiting, crouched just staring us both down, she slowly held her arms out as if to beckon us to jump to her.

I stared in confusion and distrust, almost begging mono in my head to not just blindly jump at her. The path below his feet crumbled and just as it began to fall he leaped over to the other side. Pushing sixes form to fall backwards from the force of his jump.

His body shielded mine from the fall as we rolled towards the tv with static. Six was on the edge of the platform as it began to crumble like everything else. I went to hold a hand out to her when I was suddenly forcefully pushed through the TV my eyes darted to mono in shock for a moment his face staring at me grimly. "wait mono-" he smiled briefly and that was all I saw before darkness took over.
