Star sat on her bed, chewing on her wand. She always did that. Last night was the Blood Moon Ball. She and Marco had danced. What he didn't realize, was that it had worked. Their souls had become one. Star had grown a small crush on him, but she had grown a massive one last night. It was 3:00 in the morning. She hadn't gotten a second of sleep. Star flopped on her bed, and tossed her wand to the foot of it. She flipped onto her side, and kicked off her covers. She looked at her clock again. 3:02. She let out a quiet angry yell, and adjusted her canopy curtains. She untied them and moved them to the sides of her bed. Her left and right side were covered by the curtains. That usually helped her fall asleep. Because if she opened her eyes, all she would see on her sides would be tulle. She closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
Star awoke 3 hours later to her alarm. She stumbled over to her mirror, and saw how awful she looked. She trudged over to the bathroom, and brushed her hair. She put on a face mask, and walked back to her room. Star grabbed her wand, and zapped her hair. Ponytail. "Nice." She whispered. She then went back to the bathroom, to find the door closed. Marco was in there. She still knocked. "Marco, can I come in?" She yelled through the door. "Sure!" She opened the door, and walked through a bunch of steam. He was in the shower. She used the sink water to wash off her face mask, and she walked out. "See you later Marco!" Star said. After she got dressed, Star skipped down to breakfast. She ate her cereal slowly and quietly. "Hello Star!" Mr. Diaz said as he walked past. "Hello." She replied. "Good morning Star!" Mrs. Diaz said to her. "Good morning." She said quietly. Marco ran down the stairs. "Hey mom! Hey dad! Hey Star!" He said. He grabbed a mini pancake, and shoved it in his mouth. "C'mon Star! We gotta get to the bus!" He then snatched up his backpack, and ran towards the door. As Star watched him, she realized that she wanted to tell him how she felt. "Wait! Marco!" She yelled out to him. He paused, and turned to face Star. "Yeah?" She soon regretted yelling out his name. "Never mind. I'll be there in a second." Marco smiled, and ran outside to the bus stop. Star sighed, and grabbed her backpack. "You almost had it Star." She whispered to herself. She sadly walked to the door, and looked at her shoes. She couldn't tell him. Not today, at least. "Star! The bus is almost here!" She heard Marco yell. And with that, she ran to the bus.
