The waitress brought their check. Marco checked the amount. Only 58.68 dollars. Not bad. He fished 60 dollars out of his wallet. The extra dollar was for a tip.  "Thank you! Have a nice night!" The waitress said, smiling at them. Marco smiled. Star jumped out of her seat. Marco followed her out the door. He took her hand in his. Star smiled at him. He kissed her cheek. Star blushed furiously, but still kept smiling. "What movie do you want to watch?" Star asked him, pushing her hair behind her ear. She was wearing beautiful puppy earrings. They kind of looked like the laser puppies. Marco started to laugh. "What's so funny?" Star asked him, a weird expression on your face. "Your earrings look kind of like the laser puppies!" He exclaimed, lightly tugging her ear. "Oh!" She said, touching her ear. "Yeah, they kind of do." They continued walking. The sun was setting, it's rays a beautiful shade of dark orange. As they approached the Diaz' house, Marco let go of Star's hand. He didn't want his mom to tease them again. He slowly opened the door. "Mom? Dad? We're home!" He called. No answer. "Mom?" Marco called again. "You check upstairs, I'll check down here," Star said, a worried expression on her face. Marco ran up the stairs. They weren't in his room, their room, Star's room, or the bathroom. Marco races back downstairs. Star was sitting on the couch. "Anything?" She asked, biting her lip. "No," Marco said. He sat next to Star. "I'll call Mom's cell," Marco said, grabbing the home phone. He dialed her number. After a few rings, someone finally picked up. "Hellooooo?" Mrs. Diaz said. "MOM?! Where are you?! You gave us a heart attack! We didn't know where you were!" "Oh!" Mrs. Diaz laughed. "Since you two went out on a date..." she said. Marco blushed. "Friendly dinner," he corrected her. Their family called dinners with friends that were girls "friendly dinners." "Anyway," she continued, "your father and I decided to go out on a date too!! We'll be back in about an hour and a half." "Ok. Bye," Marco said, hanging up.
