Blaze and the teenagers bonded quite a bit in a matter of a few days. She was a great guard dog, she led them to water, hunted, and caught them food, and warned them of danger. Blaze and Rivere had a strong relationship as well, even stronger than the others.
They had been traveling for a long time, and nothing had happened.
The teens prepared for bed that night, absolutely exhausted and a bit grumpy. They were deep in sleep when Blaze suddenly began to bark. The boys grumbled at her. "Shut up, stupid dog!" Dave yelled angrily, then rolled over and went back to sleep. Jason locked eyes with Rivere. "She's warning us about something!" Rivere said to Jason. He nodded.
"Let's go!" Jason tapped Dave.
"No!" Dave replied, anger and rage overcoming his logic.
Just then, Rivere gasped.
Dave jumped up and followed her gaze. The boys gasped as well. "Run!" Jason commanded, and turned, leading the way. Sand blew fiercely around them, the wind howling ferociously at them. It covered their skin and bodies but they had no choice but to continue. They had only been running for a bit when the sand began to blow even harder, knocking them over into the sand. Faces deep underground, the teens closed their eyes and lost conciseness.~
Rivere woke up next to Jason. His arms were around her protectively. Rivere smiled at him. "Jason," she whispered quietly. His eyes opened wide. "Rivere! You're okay! Thank goodness!" He hugged her, then stopped as a sudden, bright blush appeared on his face. "Uh..." He muttered. Then he stumbled away, face bright red and hot.
Rivere, confused, got up and looked for Dave. He was nowhere in sight. "Dave!" She called. "Where are you?" There was no response. "Jason, have you seen Dave?" Jason shook his head. They searched the area. The sand dunes were piled even higher thanks to the sandstorm, and all the plants had been uprooted and thrown everywhere.
Just then, it hit her.
Rivere gasped.
"Jason, the sand dunes!"
His eyes widened as he understood.
Rivere began to dig. The sand was very hot, and it burned her hands as she went in deeper. Wincing in pain, she pushed all the sand aside until she felt something. "I found- wait, never mind! It's Blaze! I almost forgot about her!" Rivere petted her and wrapped her arms around the wolf, while Jason continued to search for Dave. A few minutes later, he finally spoke. "Rivere." She looked at him. "What is it?" She asked, afraid of the answer. He shook his head. "I can't find him. He's gone!"~
They were still looking for Dave. Hours and hours had passed, and Rivere was exhausted. Jason was as well, and they knew it was time to give up. He looked at Rivere, who had slumped down and was resting with Cora, who had also helped in the search for the missing Dave.
"I... I think it's time to give up..." Jason trailed off.
Rivere nodded.
"Yes." She sniffled.
The sky darkened as night fell.
"Goodnight, Rivere."
"Goodnight, Jason."
Being alone was a bad feeling.
I need Jason, she thought.
I need Rivere, Jason thought.
They moved towards each other, and Jason wrapped his arms around her. She felt comforted, she snuggled closer to him, closed her eyes, and fell asleep to Jason's steady heartbeat thumping against her chest.Jason woke up, prepared to stretched his arms out, but remembered Rivere. He loosened his hold on her and tickled her cheek.
Rivere woke up, laughing lightly. She looked deep into his eyes, and their faces were only inches apart...
Their lips met.
This is the best feeling ever, Jason felt his heart open up for Rivere.
Am I actually in love? Rivere thought. I am.
I am.~
Myra was bored.
Even though it seemed so exciting to be held captive by Angmon, the Evil King, it got boring after a while. Really boring, since there was NOTHING to do.
She could tell Angmon was getting tired of it, too.
He had always had a short temper, had always been impatient.
Now Angmon was tired of staring at that same annoying girl's face. Those shining blue eyes of hers did not fit well with his "Darkness" type of scene. Maybe it was time to get rid of her?
But that went against everything he stood for.
As he mused about what to do with the mortal he currently was in possession of, Myra was thinking of a way to get out of this world.
"Am I alive?"
Her voice echoed through the empty space.
The King squinted at her.
"You mean you don't know?"
"Don't know what?"
"Where you are."
"No!"
Angmon chuckled. "It's my kingdom. My darkness reigns supreme here!"
"I know," Myra responded. "But this is not reality, is it?"
"No. You're trapped in my world. And you will never come out."
Myra shook her head. "That doesn't matter. I need the kids to be safe..." As she spoke, she realized her mistake.
Angmon did as well. His lips curved into an evil grin. "Let's bring the children here, shall we? They can join the party!"
"No!"
It was too late. The children were doomed.
Why?
Well, Myra wasn't sure of that either, but she knew that Angmon always had a trick up his sleeve...
And she was correct.
"Here, in this world, I control you. What you do, and what you can do. I want you to use your telepathy to bring the kids here-"
"Telepathy?"
"Yes, telepathy. Don't interrupt. Now, as I was saying, I command you to communicate with the kids! Connect to... Rivere, is it? Yes, her. Bring them here!"
"No!" Myra tried to fight it, but what could she do? Her brain worked without her permission, and she found herself sending a thought message to Rivere- Come here.
There was nothing left to do but wait...~
Rivere stopped.
"Wait."
"Why?"
"Someone is sending me a thought!"
"Who?"
"Um... Her name is Myra Jaye... Do you recognize that name?"
"No..."
"She is telling me to meet her at some place! This way, Jason!"
"Are you sure?" Jason asked doubtfully.
"Do you trust me?" Rivere asked.
"Yes."
"Then I think we should listen to this thought."
"Okay, if you say so... Let's go..."
