Here's part two!
One thought kept pestering Felix's mind as he lay next to his sleeping girlfriend, Blake. Why is it so difficult to defeat the Avengers? The question wouldn't leave, and he soon noticed he had furrowed his brow and begun to frown from frustration. He looked over at Blake in the darkness, but could only make out the back of her head. No matter how long he looked at her, trying to clear that one persistent thought from his head, he couldn't. He also couldn't stop frowning.
"Felix, I can feel you scowling." He heard Blake sigh quietly, and quite sleepily. He didn't answer her, trying to trick her into thinking he was asleep. Around half an hour later he turned his head to the ceiling and closed his eyes, with sleep finally taking a grasp on him.
But just as he was on the cusp of unconsciousness, he heard a familiar and frightening sound. It was her. Blake. She was struggling to breathe. Once it registered what was happening, he open his eyes and pulled himself from blissful empty thoughts to help his struggling girlfriend.
Felix rolled over onto his stomach and looked at her, discovering she was wide awake and on her back now. He cupped her cheek with one of his hands and took her hand with his other. He knew she was scared of this happening, as was he.
"Blake," he said softly, "Blake, you're going to be okay." He looked her in her panic stricken eyes. He didn't like seeing her like this. He didn't like the feeling that he might not be able to help or protect her. "Arch your back," he pleaded. She seemed too scared to do anything. Felix quickly took action and wrapped his arm around her waist, pushing her back into a small arch. It got her to pay attention. "Tilt your head and take long, slow deep breaths."
It took a while for her to regain steady breathing, but he didn't dare let go of her. Once she had recovered, Felix kissed her gently on her head and pulled her close to him. "You're okay now. I'll always be here to keep you safe Blake. Don't forget that." He whispered to her as he rested his head above hers and tightened his grip on Blake, pulling her closer to his chest. "Go to sleep..." He pleaded. "I won't let go."
Once she had drifted off into what he hoped was a blissful sleep, Felix kissed her again on her head and let himself fall into the grasp of unconsciousness.
