ELENA'S POINT OF VIEW
To be seen is different than being heard. When you're heard, people know you're there. They talk to you. When you're seen, people just see a body. They don't see who is really underneath that. They don't care.
I spent the majority of my life caring that people won't ever see me the way I want them to. In reality, I've noticed that I will never be seen as an equal. There's no point in trying. Although people don't notice me in a room of thirty people, I learned that sometimes it's the best. Sometimes, being your own person is rewarding. People appreciate that. They like to see something different than what's considered normal. Those who are unique are the ones who get the good men.
My life has been revolved around my career and men. I've never been into marriage and children. I always thought that being a successful career woman would be my passion. Overtime, I became a person that wanted to love. That did love. Except, it wasn't the right person. I had strong feelings for Kyle, but I think it was because of his power. I never felt anything more though. As much as I wanted to, I never loved him. I loved someone else.

DEAN'S POINT OF VIEW
I ran into the hospital as fast as I could. They took her though the emergency entrance. I, was now in the waiting room.
"Sir, may I help you?" the front lady asked.
I straightened my shirt and wiped my eyes.
"Uhmm Elena Gilbert, she just came in the emergency room from a car crash," I told her.
"Okay, I'll let the doctors know you're here. They'll want to talk to you," she told me.
"Will she be okay?" I asked softly.
"They're doing everything they can," she said.
I sat down and waited.
SIX HOURS LATER
"Excuse me sir. Are you Dean?" the man in a white coat asked.
"Yes, how is she? Is she okay?" I said getting up.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Castiel Novak. I am taking care of Elena. She made it through surgery, but I can't tell how bad the injury was. She took a hard hit, and she's not breathing on her own. She has four broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, broken leg, and several deep cuts all over her body. I'm surprised she's even alive," he told me.
I sat down in my chair with my head in my hands.
"What does this mean? I asked.
"It means that she has a lot of recovering to do. She needs to breathe on her own," he told me.
"Can I see her?" I asked.
"Family members only. What's your relation?" He asked me.
"Fiancé," I told him.
"Follow me," he said.
I entered the room in the ICU. I could hear the machines beeping and saw a nurse working on something. It was that moment, that I saw her. She was broken, beaten, and dying. That was my Elena right there.
I pulled up a chair next to her bed and grabbed her lifeless hand. I cried softly to myself.
"Elena," I whispered. "Please don't leave me."
I sat there and watched her.
