I was standing in the middle of the forest. The trees were stripped of leaves and glistened with ice.
'How could there be ice? It's the middle of summer...?'
I went to take a step, only for my for my foot to sink at least two feet into snow.
'Wait, snow?! In the middle of summer?'
The moment I said that, fluffy snow fell from the sky above. It seemed so lifelike. I held my hand out and watched as the flakes sat on my skin. Slowly melting away as they grew bigger. I tried to look at the sky, only to find the tangle of branches and ice. The snow seemed to find there way through the branches. When I looked around I saw nobody.Slowly walking forward, the beauty of this place is breath taking. However, the further I traveled, the darker my surroundings seemed. The snow slowed down until the point it stopped. The silence was eerie, my fear grew stronger to the point I wanted to bolt.
From the corner of my eye I saw something move. Then another, followed by another. When I turned to look at whatever it was, it vanished. So I did what any normal person would do, I ran the heck away.
I ran as fast as my feet could carry me, but the trees seemed to close around me. The branches snagging my shirt, hair, vines came out of the darkness and wrapped around my ankles. The ice melted faster, dripping to the ground rapidly. It almost sounded like the trees were... Crying. Like this was against there will.
Once I broke away from the vines I continued my flee until I came to a clearing. And a dead end. The trees behind me rustled. Turning around, I saw two red eyes, narrowed. The shadow walked towards me, I could make out a particular shape. It was human form and had huge wings. The wings were pitch black, and glistened. Probably from the melting ice. It walked out of the woods, showing me it was human, yet not? His hair has dark brown and fell over his face. His eyes were crimson red and seemed to look right through me. His wrist had tattoos that crawled up his arm and wrapped around his waist. His wings seemed to have silver tips as he got closer. The closer he got, my head started pounding. I heard a voice in my head:
"You are the chosen one winter."
The voice got louder till my ears started ringing and my head pounded. I fell to my knees when he hovers over me. His hand touched the back of my neck, sending a sharp pain down my spine. My back burned as I opened my mouth to yelp in pain, yet no sound came out. The pain spread from the middle of my back to around my torso. All I could do was grit my teeth when something crashes into the man and knocks him over. Instantly being relieved from the pain, I looked up to find another winged man. He looked like the other but his hair was slightly curly and black. His wings were black with icy blue edges. It was mesmerizing. His back had tattoos too.
The blue eyed man struggled to keep the red eyes one down, until blue eyes brought out this silver stake and stabbed it through red eyes mans chest, making him scream for a second before going silent. Blue eyes stood up as the body flailed until it too caught up and went still. I couldn't believe my eyes when the body suddenly shifted into black smoke and went away.
The blue eyed man turned and looked at me, his icy glare making me shrink back until I felt like a five year old getting in trouble. I shifted my gaze until he touched my face, soothing whatever the red eyes man did. With him I didn't feel like I was in danger. I was safe. When his hand moved away I couldn't help but to sigh disappointedly. He started to walk away, leaving a silver chain in his wake.
I woke up startled. Sweat covered my face as I leaned forward. When I went to get up, a sharp pain shot through my leg up to my arm causing me to fall back on my bed. When I looked at my alarm it said 3:00 am on it.
I sighed and rolled my sleeve up to find a mysterious tattoo of a flower and vines similar to the box. I gasped in shock when something sparkles from my window. When I got up to look I saw a silver chain hanging there, just like the one from my dream.
Only difference was that this one was this one was covered in a thin layer of ice.
