The next day around noon Isabelle was elbow deep in soapy water washing dishes when the telephone rang. She ran to the phone dripping water across the kitchen floor as she went.
"Hello?" she said after she'd put the now soap covered phone to her ear.
"Hey there, Isabelle! It's Trisha."
"Hi Trisha." Isabelle replied with a smile. Trisha was even bubbly on the phone.
"My sister Chelsea and I were gonna go do a little shopping today over in Slayetsville. They have a big mall over there. Do you want to come with us?" Isabelle was surprised by the offer and surprised by how happy just this simple gesture made her. She had never had real friends before as a grown woman. Joe, her now dead husband, had never allowed it.
"Sure. I'll have to bring Sara." she said.
"The more the merrier! We'll be there in about thirty minutes to get you!"
Sara and Isabelle were waiting on the small front porch of the little house when Trisha and Chelsea pulled up in a blue dodge durango.
"Hop on in! We got lots of stores to hit and so little time to hit them in!" Trisha said with a laugh as she looked at them over the top of her Hollywood like sunglasses. Isabelle grabbed Sara's booster seat and they both got into the durango.

The four of them shopped till they very nearly did drop once they got to the mall… Well Isabelle and Chelsea were ready to drop anyway while Trisha seemed to have more energy than even Sara and continued to bounce and hop around. Isabelle had never had this much fun in her life. It had been a long time since she'd been able to relax and laugh and just have a good time.
They spent the afternoon talking about movies, music and of course good looking men. Isabelle didn't understand the amused looks on both Chelsea and Trisha's faces when she went on a roll about how captivating she found Brad Thompson's voice. Finally around five that evening Chelsea had had enough shopping.
"Listen, Trisha, we either have to get somewhere to eat or this woman is going to collapse. You might be twenty-one but I'm thirty-two and I need a break."
"Come on, Sara. The old people need a break." Trisha said with a grin. They could barely fit all of their bags in the back of the vehicle and once they got done eating dinner at Applebees they started back for home.
Sara was sound asleep when Trisha pulled into the driveway of the small house.
"Thank you guys so much for inviting us along today. We had a great time." Isabelle said as she scooped Sara and all their bags into her arms.
"We'll have to do it again soon." Trisha agreed. Chelsea and Trisha pulled out after they made sure Isabelle made it inside with Sara.
"Thanks for letting me know to keep my mouth shut about Bradley being Brad Thompson… I would have blown it for sure when she started going on about what his voice does to her heart." Chelsea said with a laugh.
"For some reason our brother doesn't want her to know." Trisha replied.
"Do you think he likes her?" Chelsea asked. Trisha nodded.
"Hell yes he likes her but you know how Bradley is." Chelsea sighed.
"Self declared eternal bachelor." she said as she laid her head back. "Not that I can say anything to him about that. It's not like I've settled down."
"That's different." Trisha said. "You are at least married to your job. What does Bradley have? Nothing.. It makes me sad."
"He's a grown man. You just have to let him figure it out on his own." Chelsea said knowing how much her younger sister enjoyed meddling in other peoples love lives.
