I woke to the most annoying sound ever. My alarm clock.

I rolled over and hit it hard and it instantly shut up. I rubbed my eyes to get rid of the sleep that was fogging my vision.

I tumbled out of my bed and headed to the kitchen. I was greeted with the smell of bacon and eggs. Morgan Bella, my roommate, was of course already up. Morgan is the most perfect person I know. She had light, straight blonde hair that relaxes on her shoulders, and majestic blue eyes that will just make you say things you never thought you would admit.

I slumped into the chair and started on my breakfast. "Can you believe it?"

I looked up at Morgan to see she was very giddy, "Believe what?"

"That we only have one more year till college, Penny" She exclaimed.

Oh right that. Today is the beginning of our first and hopefully last senior year. And truthfully I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life.

Morgan had a wonderful boyfriend who always brought a smile to her face. She of course was already accepted to Harvard. Morgan is the smartest girl I know and I couldn't be more proud of her. It's a miracle that she doesn't judge me for who I am but she has too kind of a soul.

I on the other hand am also smart but don't put near as much care as Morgan does. I just want to graduate and move on.

-----

We arrive at school with ten minutes to waste till first bell. So Morgan and I decide to go find our lockers. Which of course was a process.

"I think we should have them by our home base. That way it's just more convenient," Morgan insisted.

I wasn't going to let this go without a fight, "Fine. If I win then we have them by 3B if you win then our lockers will be by the home base. Deal?"

Morgan thought about this and nodded, "Fine what's the obstacle?"

We both thought about what would be fair. If it was math, Morgan would obviously win. If it was just being a complete idiot, I would.

"How about we race to home base and whoever gets there first wins?" Morgan said as a devilish smile appeared on her face.

"Oh you're on, Miss. Bella!"

"Bring it, Miss. Chaise!"

We instantly ran in different directions, obviously thinking their way was faster.

I ran as fast as I could. I ran by Owen, who was putting up his things in his locker and said a quick hey before running by him.

I turned the last corner with a smile on my face knowing I won. I didn't see the person around the corner but I was soon on the floor.

I looked at the person I ran into and gaped at her. She was truly beautiful. She had the most marvelous eyes that were dark brown with hints of green and her hair was straight and dark brown that went slightly farther than her shoulders. She was wearing a tight pencil skirt that showed off ever curve and a buttoned up sea blue shirt. I don't recognize the woman so I assume she's the new teacher.

She sighed heavily at all the papers on the floor and bent down to pick them up.

"I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed as I began to pick up the papers she had dropped.

She looked at me with a smile, "That's quite alright, dear. It was an accident."

I stood and held out the papers for her with an apologetic smile, "I am sorry though, Miss-?"

She stood and brushed off the invisible wrinkles on her skirt, "Miss. Lucas."

She holds out her hand and I shake it, "Penny. Penny Chaise."

"Ohh you're the famous Miss. Chaise?" She asks with a smirk.

I raise my eyebrow, "Famous?"

She laughed, oh gosh how lovely her laugh is, "I know things about you, Miss. Chaise."

Oh gosh what did the other teachers say to her? "What kind of things, Miss. Lucas?"

Her eyes darkened slightly and her voice went husky, "That will be for another time," she smiled at me then walked by.

I stood there replaying what just happened in my head. I walked like a zombie into my home base.

Morgan was sitting on a desk with a bright smile, "Looks like I won."

I just sat in the chair and stared at the wall. Morgan gave me a worried face, "Pen? What's wrong?"

I looked up at her, "Do you know Miss. Lucas?"

She frowned, "Miss. Lucas? Like our teacher?"

Right at that moment, Miss. Lucas came in with the sound of clacking heels.

She put the papers on her desk, "Alright sit down."

She hasn't noticed me yet. She scans the room and I sink in my chair, "Time for role."

"Morgan Bella?"

Morgan replies in a cheery voice, "Here."

Miss. Lucas nods and keeps calling out names. She calls the person before me and then she stops. She looks up from her papers, "Penny Chaise?"

I look up from my desk, "Here," I said.

She gave me a small smile that made my heart swell. She clears her throat, "Mm right. Owen Tore?"

Owen is like my brother. He knows everything about me.

"That's me!" Owen exclaims.

Miss. Lucas gave him a displeased look, "Right."

Oh gosh this is gonna be an interesting year.
