Ode to Joy- Cute Matt Espinosa Imagine

I thought I was finally going to get some sleep this morning. Boy was I wrong. I felt little hands shaking my wrists and little voices calling me.

"Mommy, mommy wake up its Christmas!" My 5 year old son Andy said with a huge smile painted across his face. I open my eyes and pull him onto the bed, kissing his cheek and hugging him in the process. I turn over and see Matt still asleep. Then our 3 year old daughter, Rose walks in and walks over to my side of the bed.

"Mama" she squeaked as I picked her up and placed her on the bed as well.

"Morning baby, Merry Christmas" I cooed as I hugged her and kissed her on the cheek. She managed to crawl over to Matt's side of the bed and began tapping him.

"Dada, dada" she kept saying. Eventually I heard Matt groan which made me realize he wasn't asleep anymore. Out of nowhere Andy and I watch Matt pull Rose over his body and capture her in a bear hug. She's squealing and screaming so Andy decides to step into action.

"Leave my sister alone daddy!" He protested as he stood up on the bed.

"Oh yeah?" Matt questioned as he caught up, Rose still in his arms, spinning her around like a mad man.

"I guess you're going to have to come get her then Andy" Matt said as he ran out of the room with Andy not too far behind. All I could do was laugh while lying down in this bed.

I got up not even a minute later and I walked downstairs to see Matt setting up the video camera and the kiddos sitting on the fireplace step, eagerly waiting to open their gifts. Once Matt had the camera ready he walked over to me and gave me a hug.

"Merry Christmas" he whispered into my ear as he kissed me.

"Merry Christmas babe" I whispered back. We turned around and walked over to the couch and sat down. We watched as out children teared away the wrapping paper.

Andy was the first to fully discover his gift. "Woahhhhhhh its a dinosaur!" He said quite loudly.

"Yeah Andy, and do you know what sound a dinosaur makes?" Matt asked.

"Rooooaaaaaarrrrrrr" Andy yelled in his best dinosaur voice.

"Hey Andy, I bet my roar is better" Matt said with a smile on his face.

"No it isn't" Andy protested.

"Yes it is" Matt argued.

Andy walked right up to Matt's face and they touched noses "No. It. Isn't" he said through gritted teeth.

Matt grabbed ahold of him and let our his inner dinosaur "ROOOOOAAAAARRRRRRRRR" he said as Andy squealed while trying to get out of his grip.

I was so lost in watching Andy and Matt that little Rose was still sitting by her gift, unopened and barely touched. I walked over and say in front of her.

"What's the matter baby? Can't get it open" I cooed. She looked down and shook her head. "That's okay that's why I'm here to help" I said as I began ripping away at the paper with her help. Once we got it fully unwrapped Rose's face was priceless. She lit up like a Christmas tree.

"A....a... teddy bear?" She questioned with a huge smile.

"Yes baby" I smiled while holding back a laugh "its a teddy bear".

Matt chimed in with Andy holding on to his shoulders "you know Rose, I got mommy a bear like that too once".

"Daddy, you did?" Andy asked.

"Yeah buddy" I said as I turned to look at Rose "it's somewhere at Grandma's house" I finished.

The rest of the morning consisted of opening presents and goofy moments with our beautiful children. I can't wait for every Christmas to be like this.
