"H--Hi, u-uhm, J-Jack?" I tried to get his attention, but nothing worked. The hallway was crowed and everyone was surrounding him.
There seemed to be something going on, because usually, as soon as school's over, everyone is eager to get the hell out.
I saw Maggie talking to Carter across the hallway and groaned, walking over to them, snatching her arm and bringing her over to the scene.
"Kristen, what the fuck are you doing!? I was roasting him!" Maggie whined, tugging on my long jet black hair.
I managed to peek through the crowd of sweaty and annoying teenagers.
There were no teachers, so I didn't think there was a fight between anyone.
Imagine if there was a fight between him and Gilinsky. That would be absolutely impossible, in my opinion. They've been best friends since kindergarten.
I squinted my icy blue eyes and saw Alli and Johnson.
She seemed to be holding someone else's hand behind her back.
I sneaked over to the right a little, behind the crowd of talking people and saw that she was holding hands with Skate Maloley.
Why was she holding hands with Skate? Well, Nate, but everyone calls him Skate.
He goes to another school. Why is he here? Just last night, our football team won the championship against Skate's highschool football team.
Skate was looking off to the side awkwardly and I could see Jack leaning his head against the grey lockers in frustration.
There was one thing Jack hated. He hated fighting. Yeah, there's tackling in football, that was the only thing he hated. To hurt other people.
It almost seemed that he was the one hurt.
Alli was biting her lip. Everyone knew that Alli Simpson was perfect. With her platinum blonde hair and her perfect figure. Every one thought she was great. This was proving one thing, even without me hearing words coming from her "innocent" little peep hole.
Alli Simpson is a dirty little cheater.
I clenched my fists and I heard Maggie mumble out an, "ow!!"
I had almost forgot that I was still holding onto her arm.
"Sorry.." I apologized and let go of her. Surprisingly, she didn't go run off to Carter.
Everyone around the "couple" was talking and I couldn't hear a word coming from Alli's mouth.
I successfully squeezed through the cluttered students and began to listen to what she was saying.
"I'm sorry, Jack." She was calling out to him while he was banging his fist on the locker, even causing one to break open, the cover, falling to the tiled floor.
"Leave, Alli. Leave with your precious little Skate. It was all some dare anyways, it's not like you actually cared about me." I heard Johnson and I literally gasped.
A dare?
"Just because it was a dare, doesn't mean I didn't care for you at some point, Jack.." She reached out to his arm to grab it, but Jack quickly swatted it away.
"Some point?" Jack scoffed and shook his head.
"Bye Alli." He said his final words and pushed past the crowd and near the exit of the school.
Holy shit.
It was all just a dare? A dare to date Johnson? They dated for two years. A two year dare? Now that's fucking ridiculous. I even heard he was planning on asking her for his hand in marriage after highschool.
Poor Jack. If only he knew how much he meant to me.
I've known Jack for a while, he just hasn't noticed me. I was there, when he was in first grade, and I was a little kindergartener. They combined the whole elementary school for a fun little holiday party, with all types of fun activities.
Flashback
This will be in third person.
Kristen fixed her pigtails as she skipped around the playground. She was curious of all the cool balloons and blow up bouncing houses.
She gasped when she saw a popcorn stand and she immediately ran over to the little tent, where a few teachers were giving out popcorn to the students.
"Mmmmm..." She began to skip towards the little baggies where the teachers would fill it up.
There was a blonde haired boy strolling around and he seemed to be alone and lost.
After her plastic bag was filled, she asked for another one.
"May I please have another one, Mrs.Smith? That boy over there is alone and I want to give him something."
The sweet teacher replied with a nod and handed her an already filled popcorn bag.
The boy was now sitting on a bench by himself, his head in his hands, slowly tapping his foot on the ground.
Kristen found this as an opportunity and quickly skipped over to the deserted blonde boy.
She smiled at him and sat beside him, taking out the bag of popcorn.
"You can have it." She smiled.
"Thank you." He grinned and opened the bag, popping some in his mouth. The blonde haired first grader threw one up in the air and caught it in his mouth.
Kristen clapped and was intrigued of what she just experienced.
She tried doing the same thing and she failed, the next time, she got it and the little boy cheered on for her.
The whole afternoon was filled with giggles and popcorn, spilling on the ground on the field.
It was almost time for dismissal, so Kristen took the time to ask a few questions.
"What's your name?" She asked, putting her empty bag on the table next to them.
"My name is Jack." He grinned a huge one and did the same as Kristen.
"My name is Kristen." She answered her own question and Jack nodded. Jack told her he liked her name and he told her why he was all alone.
"My best friend Jack Gilinsky was sick today and now I'm all alone, but it was fun to play with you, Kristen. I'm a first grader!" He smiled.
"I'm in kindergarten!" She smiled and hugged him.
Jack hugged her back and they became friends.
7 years later...
Kristen was entering the sixth grade and she remembered Jack and how they were best friends, even though it was hard to hangout. In fifth grade, Jack and Kristen weren't able to communicate.
Kristen finally found Jack and she walked up to him. She reminded him who she was, but he didn't remember and told her, "Sorry, I don't hangout with sixth graders..."
She sighed as he walked away. She frowned and strolled along, soon to meet her new best friend in science, Maggie Lindemann.
Flashback over.
