I didn't even move. I couldn't even process what I had seen. Once a girl that I had seen not even 16 hours ago, fine as can be, now broken with bruises visible for everyone to see.

I could see that she was fragile and scared of what I would say but I didn't want to make a scene especially as I didn't know what she would do if I did.

"Rose..." I say softly.

"Listen, Louis before you ask questions-" She says, her voice almost cracking.

She sat down before I could even reply when her phone went off. I couldn't see the message but my curiosity overcame me.

"Who is that?" I say.

"Nobody now listen." She firmly commanded.

"No..you listen..I want to know you better but you can't expect me not to be a bit worried when one day you're on edge and then the next a completely broken girl." I say placing my hand on hers delicately.

She flinches but I understand why. "I can't answer most of the questions you will most likely ask, and I don't want you to get hurt." She says twiddling her reddish thumbs.

"Just 2 questions...please." I plead.

"I may or may not answer them but go on." She says.

"Who did this to you?" I say staring deep into her eyes.

There was a long pause before she said "I..can't say.Not now. Not yet." She replies.

"Fine...are you safe where you are living right now?" I say hoping for the best answer but expecting to be let down.

"This wasn't a good idea...I'm sorry." She says and gets up from the table. As she tries to leave the coffee shop, I gently pull back on her arm. Bad idea.

"Ouch..." She says rubbing her arm.

"Sorry, honestly I forgot." I say genuinely.

"When will I see you again.?" I say looking back into the beautiful eyes of this mysterious girl.

"I don't want to keep you hopes up Louis, don't make me promise anything I am not sure I can keep." She says still with her voice almost breaking.

"Rose..." I say rubbing the back of my head wondering is this girl going to keep my up at night wondering if she is alright.

"Louis.." She says sounding as she wants to meet me again.

"Whats your number. At least give me that." I say wanting to at least have SOME sort of contact with her.

"I don't know if thats a good idea...." She says trailing off.

"Please...for me." I plead.

"Ok but only put your number in as 'L'." She says handing over her phone. I give her my phone so she can do the same.

As I go to her phonebook to add my name, I see that there is only one number in there. Surely a girl around my age should have more friends but there was only one name. "Nick." I try not to sound suspicious and give her phone back quickly. She returns my phone back to see Rose there. It made me feel safer knowing that she was there.

She tried to turn to the door but turned back quickly, looking up at me. "Goodbye Louis...till next time." She says then leaving a soft, sweet kiss on the corner of my mouth.

I watch the fragile girl blend in with the others in an instant, so I lose track of her. I grab my jacket and turn to walk back to my door. I decided to take a nice relaxing walk back to my dorm as there was no rush. It only took me a half hour to walk back and by then my coffee was cold and digusting. I throw it out before I head up to my dorm so I could get to my class which was in an hour or so. I grab my keys to already hear someone in my room. I press my ear to only hear Niall shouting and some girl. Some girl that I had recognized her voice before but I couldn't pin it. Then I hear someone walking back to the door of the dorm so I hide in the fire escape. I see a brunette come out of Niall's room and leave to the exit on the right. The hair I remember...I just can't pin it.

As Niall closes the door I come out of the fire exit, to finally go into my room. I grab my keys and feel a sign of relief once they unlock the door.

I walk in to see Niall clearing up something.

"Hey Niall..." I say quickly.

"Oh..Hi Louis...sorry ha yeah about last night I just was yeah drunk sorry man gotta go bye." He says and then rushes out of the room once again.

I grab my books trying to brush off Niall's strange behavior. Then I head to my computer to kill some time and soon enough I'm off to my class. First one since vacation and I'm dreading every part of it.

But I'm still left wondering...
