=CHAPTER 4= Pain & Power

I had only a few seconds to realize my dilemma and calculate any possible outcomes that would help me out of my current situation, my eyes are fixed on the glistening sledge hammer above me as it came down like lightning, my heels sunk into the dirt as I lean backwards, i thrusted back as hard as I could, which resulted in a backward jump, I could feel the hammer as it tore into the wind mere inches from my face heading downwards, ...I was now in mid flight motion as I saw the hammer make contact with the ground below me, I could feel the small tremor from the impact of the blow even tho my feet were off the ground!, I quickly tried to gain my composure as I was in mid air and falling backwards quite quickly, I desperately tried to get a view of what was behind me and where i might end up landing, a small portion of my screen immediately popped up and was rapidly blinking, I could see a tree in the little screen that grew looked bigger and bigger by the second, i had figured it out i have a feeling that this was a camera feed so then "I was about to hit a tree !" I thought.
With my arms outstretched, and trying to reach behind me, I couldn't avoid it. "Whap!!" I felt my back jerk against the big tree then I fell to the ground, I held my head up and it was standing right there in front of me!, in the corner of my eye the hammer was already halfway to my head coming towards me from the left side, I was marveled by speed, It's so fast!, I thought this was especially with what appeared to be a very heavy hammer, I ducked in quick succession, the hammer tearing into the tree bark above my head and kept going, I rolled to my right so I had enough space to get into a running position, I had to get away, I couldn't keep this up and whoever is piloting this suite clearly wants me dead, I was no match for this thing, I glanced across the woods for a clearing path that I could take to run away, .... and I saw it, but before I would take off running, i would have to brave it, i had to check the basement, just in case my family was being held hostage in there.

I turned around to see the suite off balance after swinging the heavy hammer, "now is my chance!", I pulled the crossbow from around my waist, I had 3 spare arrows and one in the chamber, I prayed for whatever the worth, I hope these were enough to do something with, I aimed and fired at the inner elbow area as it fixed itself into position, I thought it would be one of the softest or weakest points.

"A direct hit" I yelped, but my joy was short lived, the arrow only managed to scratch the armor, ..... this is not good, my crossbow had very little effect, and by now the suite had already regained momentum, steam shot out of small holes on its outer arm up to its shoulders, it gripped the hammer tightly and started to bring it in a attacking position, i had no choice but to run!.... I took off running towards the house with as much force as I could push into my movements, In a burst of speed I was going around 60 mps on the face screen and reached the edge of the forest in no time, I was at the house.
I moved quickly through broken glass, wood and furniture trying to locate the stairs to the basement, I knew I was in danger of being caught off guard by the impressively fast moving suit wielding the large hammer, I glanced behind me ever so often to ensure my safety, while digging towards the basement, "Mom, Dad!" I yelled, no sound was heard, I kicked at the entrance which was currently blocked in and i eventually fell in after, "Kaiko are you guys down here?" ..... "It's me Aiko" .... "SOMEBODY ANSWER MEE!" ..... "Any one "........, there was no one here.

No trace of them were here, i wondered if they had been kidnapped, I have no idea what to think, If I was dreaming, id be very happy to wake up now, ......foot steps.... I heard footsteps and then there was a sudden sound of gushing steam, followed by a swift whistle, i then heard a loud boom!!, I was looking up at the moon, ....... the entire basement roof had been hit with a great force and was now falling, it was the hammer suit, I steadily stepped backwards seized up the nearest wall and jump towards it with the intention of rebounding off it to get out of the crumbling basement, with the plan a success I was out the basement and in the air above my house, i tried to get a visual of my attacker, but I was slow, it was already behind me with a swinging foot in motion and I couldn't block it!

I was sent flying, and I could feel the impact of the kick, my vitals were some 17% , I knew I was in serious trouble and can't allow myself to be continually caught off guard, but I couldn't do any better given my odds, .. as I hit the ground I rolled over to quickly gain my running form, I would have to run, I got off quickly, I looked around and it was right behind me, I went as fast as I could, I knew it was right there tho ... I could feel it, the adrenaline in my body, my pulse started racing, steam shot from around my mask, just like before, my vitals boosted up a couple to 20% and I was really on the move now, and I could see the suite lagging back when I turned around to look, my suite didn't show the back cam for some reason, now When I needed it the most ...but it didn't matter cause i was making a rather big gap between me and the attacking hammer suite every passing second.

I followed the clearing path not fully sure where it would take me, but I ran and could still see my attacker about a 70 meters away trailing me with steamy emissions from its arms, then it made a sudden drop in speed, and I found it strange, then I realized, it stopped to swing the hammer, im in thought, I wondered if it was possible, and just as I thought, it threw the hammer!, I was now focused on changing my direction, which I really had a hard time doing, the back cam popped up and began blinking rapidly once more from corner of my screen, ... ...but why?, why didn't it pop up when I was about to get kicked earlier?, I was confused but didn't have time to think about it, the hammer was closing in fast, the shining metal flew directly in my path which I had a hard time changing until I had an idea, I dived forward while turning to see the current trajectory of the hammer, I gave way as it crept pass my legs coming up to my torso all in mid air, then for some reason I grabbed it and it carried me along for a bit, I then stuck my feet to the ground trying to stop the flying hammer.

I eventually stopped it and it hit the ground with a heavy thud, I was now hopeful I could have an advantage over the attacking suite, I thought it would now be less dangerous and i could put in a better fight with what little energy I had left, I took a quick glance at my vitals meter that was now showing a concerning 15%, i ignored it, looked up and saw the suit approaching me quite fearless and moving swiftly, I then proceeded to lift the hammer, and my vitals meter (vm) went crazy!, I was quickly losing energy that i didn't have to spare, a pressure gauge was activated on my screen again, i had noticed it from earlier before that my suite could measure weight, firstly from digging rubble at the crash site, then at the basement, I thought it was pretty handy, as i had no clue that the hammer i was holding was weighing 700 lbs! It was unbelievable!, my suite began losing power drastically so I released the three quarters of ton weighing hammer, my vitals crept to 9% after dancing in between 6% and 5% vigorously,then I could hear running footsteps getting closer and as I looked around my eyes locked in on it's foot coming towards my face, the kick felt like running into a brick wall, i could feel every fiber in my body shake, the pain was unbearable, i wondered why i was feeling this specific hit so intensely,.. i was flying....the kick sent me floating over some distance, but falling felt like forever, I was falling for too long!? I thought about it for a second, looked up and, ..... ..... I was falling from a cliff!
