Hoseok was a shy boy, he never talked much in school. He'd sit alone at the lunch table and eat the lunch his mom made for him. She'd always make him lunch no matter what. One day, at his lonely table another kid appeared. "Hi," he sat down and smiled. The new boy extended a hand, his eyes forming crescents as his teeth gleamed with a smile. "My name's Jimin!"

From that day on Jimin would always stay with Hoseok at the lonely table.

The two got close, one day playing on the grass. The two laughed together and Jimin tackled Hoseok with a grin - Jimin ontop of him and Hoseok laughing below him. All of a sudden Jimin stopped laughing and looked down at him, their faces mere inches apart. Jimin blushed and sat up with a nervous cough. Hoseok got up with a worried gaze, "What's wrong Jiminnie?" Jimin looked at the other with a serious gaze. His big orbs gazing into the others. "Let's promise to stay together forever." Jimin held out his pinkie, and Hoseok blinked before breaking out into a wide smile wrapping his pinkie around his best friend's. "Promise!"

As the two progressed through school they got closer and closer. In third grade they started holding hands. They were inseperable. They were special to each other. The teacher stopped questioning it and even made sure to partner them up. But one day she partnered them up with someone else. "You two need to make friends, alright?" Hoseok started tearing up, his hand squeezing Jimin's a bit tighter.  "B-But me and Jiminnie promised to stay together forever." Jimin's eyes widened, "It's okay Hobi." He hugged the other little boy and soon they parted, letting go of each other's hands and sitting down with their new partners.

Hoseok wiped his eyes with his long sleeves and looked up at a smiling boy, "Hi my name is Taehyung!" He held out a hand which Hoseok hesistatingly shook. Jimin, who was looking at him, felt a small smile on his face - happy that he was finally opening up to someone besides himself. Looking forward, he locked eyes with an older boy. "Hi my name is J-Jin" The boy spoke and bowed shyly. Jimin bowed slightly in return, "My name's Jimin."

A few weeks later, Jimin was sitting at the quiet table alone - Hoseok was never late. He was always early and waiting for Jimin with a smile. Soon he heard a voice yell his name "Jiminnie!" Turning around, he felt a pang in his chest. A wide smiling Hoseok was running hand in hand with another boy. A boy he recognized as Taehyung and a Jin running after them. "H-Hi Jiminnie! Sorry im late! Taehyung and Jin wanted to join us." Jimin made a small sound of understanding and Hoseok sat down in his usual spot next to him. Although, this time Taehyung sat down next to Hoseok on his right side holding his hand - with Jin sitting down next to Taehyung with a smile. Setting down their lunch on the table.

Jimin didn't feel so special anymore.

The four boys grew and grew. They were in middle school now. Hoseok had extended his friend branch. There was no longer just Jimin, Taehyung and Jin. Now, he had new friends - Jungkook, Namjoon, and Yoongi. Those three friends had met Hoseok and grew close, even when they had found him holding Jimin's hand. Soon, Hoseok had stopped holding Jimin's hand due to the ridicule of the others. Jimin felt farther and farther away from Hoseok as Hoseok grew into an outgoing person, but he'd never leave Jimin. They'd walk home together and hug before they parted at the crossroads. "See you tomorrow Jiminnie," he would say. "See you tomorrow Hobi," he would say back. They'd hug and walk the rest of the way home with a smile.

Hoseok had gone through a lot of girlfriends through High School and University. More than Jimin could take, but Jimin knew his intentions. That was why when Hoseok sat down with him and came out to him. He wasn't surprised. He hugged his friend and whispered words of encouragement and happiness. He wasn't disgusted with his sexuality. He was happy. Happy for him. Happy that he had trusted him with this before anyone else. He even told him before his own family. Although, Jimin grew to know that this girlfriend spree Hoseok went through was because of a boy they both knew. Taehyung. The boy that flirted with every single thing that walked. This was his way of making sure that pang in his chest was not jealousy of love but jealousy of friendship. Jimin knew Hoseok liked Taehyung. He'd always laugh with him and look at him a different way. Sure, he would come to Jimin to hug him tightly after breakups, but he knew that somewhere that it was wrong. Hoseok felt nothing for those girls' kisses no matter how much he tried to convince himself that he did care. Trying to convince himself that he did love the love that they offered him.
