Peyton's POV
I couldn't believe it. It had been two years since the first episode of Girl Meets World had aired. The show had become increasingly popular since the one year anniversary of the show. Our fan base had at least quadrupled and we were getting noticed almost everywhere we went. We had all been guests on talk shows and had done loads of interviews, but I could safely say that no one let the fame go to their heads.
We were making an appearance on Good Morning America to celebrate our two years on the spinoff, and we had all taken a seat on the couches. I was seated in between August and Danielle, with Ben on her other side. Across from us, on the other couch, sat Rowan, Sabrina and Corey. The interviewer, named Ellie, was sitting in her own chair, closest to August and Rowan. "So guys," started Ellie, "how does it feel to have such a large fan base now?"
Sabrina started answering first, "Well, it's definitely amazing to see all of the support we get from our fans and to see how many people actually want to come see our live tapings and want to meet us."
"Yeah," I add on, "and I wish we could meet all of our fans because each and every one of them truly mean the world to us." I can feel Rowan's eyes on me, but I know I shouldn't look. I shouldn't look because I have trained myself not to.
I look.
Just for a split second. Just to see her smiling at me.
Then I look back at Ellie and pretend it didn't happen. I've been doing this for longer than I should have. But I like to think that it's worth it.
"Rowan," Ellie turns to her, "I know people must ask you this a lot," I know exactly what she'll say, "but since we have both of you in the room, I have to ask. Are you and Peyton a thing?" I smile, let out a small laugh like I always do. Rowan does the same.
"No," she giggles, "Peyton and I are just friends."
Ellie turns to me. "Peyton?"
"She speaks the truth," I tell Ellie. "No romantic relationships here."
"Aw," Ellie says, "well that's too bad."
The interview goes on for about 15 more minutes, and then we leave the set of Good Morning America to go to the set of Girl Meets World. Once we get back, the director yells, "Filming starts at exactly 11:45am. Do not be late. Peyton, I'm looking at you." I smile shyly and wave to director. He waves back.
As I walk to my dressing room, I check the time. 10:17am. Good, I have enough time.
I swing my dressing room door open and close it quickly. The room isn't very big. It's kind of like a trailer, with a mini kitchen on one side and a bed on the other, crammed between the two walls, but there's a door leading to a huge closet. The closet is cut in half. The left side holds all of my Lucas clothing and the right side holds all of my regular clothing. I walk into the Lucas closet and pick out one of his famous blue shirts and pull on jeans. When I'm done, I walk back out into the navy painted room.
The whole room is practically the same color. Navy blue walls, navy blue comforter, navy blue bean bag chair on the floor. The cabinets and floor are a dark brown, however, and the room is accented with white in the pillows, sheets and doors.
I know exactly where I'm going when I leave my dressing room. I take an immediate right when I step out of the door, another right down the hallway, a left and it is the door farthest down on the left. I knock and the white door swings open. I am greeted warmly by a smile as I step inside.
"So, 'just friends', huh?" I smirk at her.
