Third person p.o.v

Matthew and all the boys were in the lobby of the new hotel that they were staying at for a couple days. It wasn't the fanciest but for nine teenage boys it was more then enough.

"Alright there's ten rooms that I booked. Of course on is for me and you guys will choose who you will share a room with. There is one room that is for whoever wants to have a room to themselves.Come get the card to open the room when you guys have chosen who you want to be with. Rest up get changed do whatever it is you're going to do but meet me back in the lobby in two hours. We're going out to eat so you don't want to get here late cause we'll leave wether it's all nine of you or not. And please do not do anything stupid I'm not trying to almost get kicked out a hotel again. That is all now off you guys go."

All the boys nodded to show that they understood what Bart had told them. Bart grabbed his card and walked off leaving the boys to do what they were going to do. Cameron and Nash quickly swiped one of the cards from the counter and running to the elevator with Bart. Jack and Jack were next to grab a card. Then Shawn and Taylor. Matthew walked over to the counter picking the card for the room by himself.

Carter was surprised and upset. Him and Matthew always roomed together. Aaron always got the room by himself.

"Guess it's us two."

Aaron only smiled and walked to the elevator leaving carter to trail behind.

"If you don't want to room I can try to convince Matthew to switch with me if you'd like."

Aaron knew Carter wasn't very happy with having to room with somebody that wasn't Matthew but he didn't take any offense to it.

"No it's fine. He didn't want to room with anybody that's why he choose the solo room. It's whatever."

Cameron texted all the boys telling them to meet at his and Nash's room as soon as they got onto the floor.

Aaron and Carter were the last ones to walk in. All the boys were already messing around. Carter looked around the room laughing at his friends. Only then did he noticed somebody was missing. Matthew.

Matthew saw the text Cameron sent him but decided to stay in his room for the next two hours he had before they went out to eat. Matthew grabbed his headphones out his suitcase and put them into his phone. He opened his music app and pressed shuffle. The first song to play was how to save a life by The Fray. The song always managed to make Matthew to cry.

It reminded Matthew of his best friend Violet(a/n this part is completely made up). Violet and Matthew were best friends before Matthew got popular on vine and started touring. They were best friends for years but Matthew never knew what happened behind closed doors at Violets house. He didn't know she lived with her sexually and physically abusive uncle and aunt and her older cousin that would verbally abuse her, every chance he had. He was completely oblivious to the fact her parents and baby sister died the year before they met in a car accident. Violet killed herself when Matthew was in Dallas for Magcon. She overdosed on sleeping pills. He always thought she was happy so hearing the news from his sobbing mother who had found violet made his whole world crumble. She put on such a brave face for the world and never showed her true emotions. She had a smile that could light up a room and a ridiculously contagious laugh. She would always want the people around her to be happy even if she was tearing apart. That's when Matthews depression started. He felt guilty he never helped her. Everybody would try to tell him that it wasn't his fault and that nobody knew about it so they couldn't do anything to help but he just wouldn't have it.

Matthew spent weeks in his room crying his eyes out. He refused to eat, sleep leave his room or try and talk to somebody. He spent countless nights reading the journal that Violet left in his room the last time she went to his house. In the journal were numerous entries about her uncle and cousin. About her and Matthew. The last thing she wrote in her journal was a letter to Mathew. Matthew read that letter over and over again to the point he knew it by heart and could tell you everything in it word by word.

Matthew's parents didn't know what to say or what to do but no matter what they did it never made Matthew get any better. They figured that in time he would get better and he would move on. They were right. Matthew found out about a new app that had just come out through his friends and decided to check it out. His friends would never shut up about it so he wanted to know what was so good about it. The same day he downloaded it he spent three hours on the app. Watching the videos from some of the viners his friends followed. The app distracted him from everything and bought him some form of happiness through six second videos. So he thought why not make some of his own. His first vine was just him messing around acting goofy but people seemed to like it. He got a couple of likes and revines that same day he posted it. So he decided to make another one the next day. Matthew never expected to blow up on the app and end up having million of fans and touring with eight new best friends. He simply thought it was a fun distraction that bought him happiness. And that's where it all started.

I feel like some of us can relate to this chapter bc we made a vine account and followed a viner we thought was cute and funny but never expected them to become this huge part of our life. Like now you love that person more then you love yourself at times. It's crazy how much something so little as a 6 second video can change everything. I'm loving the way the new version of the book is coming out tbh. Thank you for voting, commenting and following. Love you guys loads! Stay strong and beautiful! 5 votes and 3 comments for the next chapter💕-Jos
