chapter 1

Maya Penelope Hart laid back in her arm chair, wondering what it was that kept her in that night.

Oh yeah, it was a gut feeling.

She sat next to the window, lightly pressing her cheek against the glass, and watched as the rain poured down.

She kept her attention focused on the raindrops that were rolling down the window. Anxiousness, and excitement came over her as she wondered which raindrop would win the raindrop race.

A huge smile plastered on her face when a raindrop hit the window pane. Not only did she feel happy, she was proud, and hopeful.

Weird, huh? That a droplet of water could make someone feel so much better.

For a while there was relaxation, and peacefulness.

Until she heard her phone shaking against the table beside her.

Please don't be A, please...

She silently begged, although half of her believed it would be A.

'A' was gone for a while, he or she stopped playing 'cat and mouse' for a few weeks. And for that few weeks, Maya and her friends didn't have to jump at the sound of their phones.

She opened the text, and her heart began racing at irregular speeds.

hi guys! this is my new book. it's kind of like a mash-up of PLL and GMW (my two favourite shows at the moment), but it's not really the same series of events, just the concept, so A will not be the one from PLL
