"Devlin, you...you need to go!" I said with all the effort I had left in me, I could feel myself turning as I spoke. The look in Devlin's eyes said it all, I couldn't leave her.. I had no choice in the matter anymore... This bite from that infected was killing me quickly..
"I can't leave you, you're all I have!" Devlin whimpered from my chest area, her tears being soaked up by my blood stained shirt.
"Devlin, listen. I'm going to turn, and those infected are going to get in within minutes.."
"I can't lose you.." She said looking up at me, her soft hair falling to her pale and tear stained face as I looked back down at her
"Devlin, take my bow.. Hold it close and go out the back. Get out of here whilst you can Dev"...
I wanted her to stay with me, see me through to the end but I knew she couldn't. After a few moments Devlin scrambled up, taking my bow from my possession and walking to the door. Before she left she turned back around, the tears failing to stay in as we both let out silent cries. The horde of infected burst through the not so sturdy door, at this point Devlin had gone, the infected focused on my pulsation now. I stood up, my weakness that I had now succumbed to taking over me. With all my strength I took my axe from the floor, and swung at a few of the infected. Before I blacked out, and fell with a crash. Before I died... 486 days in..
