nev and max were situated on the sofa positioned in the middle of the living room, they duo looked up at luke as max was placing a camera on the table so it was side on to nevs macbook, luke gulped, knowing that that it wasnt good news. he didnt expect it to be, he was probably being used by some creepy old man who got off to the images of his close childhood friend. granted he was catfishing them too, but at least he was the age that he had said to be. nev and max shuffled away from eachother, giving luke room to sit between them. luke sulked to the sofa and sat down his a loud puff of air, he was annoyed, angry and sad. he'd always loved the idea of dating a fan, and he always said in interviews that he would love to date a fan. but now that he had gotten his mind into a bad state, he was prepared for the worst.
"well we did some digging on amanda" max sighed, breaking the awkward silence that had covered the area.
the camera men repositioned themselves after max had spoke, all of them being too scared to make a noise that would startle the blonde boy. the balding camera man that had been following luke was sat on the sofa adjacent to the one nev, max and luke were on, with his camera focused on the singer, the other two were standing behind the balding camera man with the sound guy holding the mic above the trio.
"first of all" nev started "we reverse google image searched the pictures of amanda that you emailed us, and it came up with a lot of hits" nev scrolled down the page and clicked on the instagram link that led to louisas page "and we found this, the girl in the pictures is a fan, and her name is louisa"
"we wanted to made sure it was her so we messaged her on instagram and asked her to skype us" max said while nev got the video max had taken from their skype call with louisa.
the girl popped onto the screen, luke watching it intently.
louisa smiled sadly at her webcam, looking into it, "hi luke, my name's louisa and im so sorry that you're being catfished, im not amanda but i am a huge fan and i hope that you can find whoever it is and stop then because nobody deserves this. i am super sorry, again. bye" she waved goodbye before hanging up
lukes eyes began watering up, he didnt want to cry on camera but the love of his life wasnt real, and he didnt know how to cope with that.
"so the girl in the pictures is not the person youre talking to" max said sympathetically
"while we waited for louisa to skype us we searched for the phone number you gave us for 'amanda' and it came back with this" nev quickly opened the tab with maikeru's details on and showed luke "it came back to a maikeru kurifōdo..."
"what the fuck is a maikeru?!" luke exclaimed
"louisa told us that this is a guys name in japanese who attends her school, she told us his name is michael" nev explained
"does the name michael mean anything to you?" max questioned
"theres a guy fan in LA, he's called michael, but it cant be him" luke furrowed his eyebrows, could it be michael, his mikey?
"we googled maikeru kurifōdo and nothing came up, so we put his name through google translate, the guy whos catfishing you is called michael clifford, is that the michael you knows last name?" nev asked
"i dont know mikeys last name" luke internally slapped himself for calling the colourful boy by his nickname
"well i say we call maikeru then get some rest and hope he's willing to meet us in LA, along with the girls 'liam' is friends with" max suggested
"i'll go onto the balcony and call maikeru and you can message the three girls and ask to meet them while were in LA" nev stood up from his seat on the sofa and walked outside, with a camera man following closely behind as well as the man with the sound mic
- nev's phone call -
Nev pulled his iPhone 5 out of the front pocket of his skinny-ish jeans, he copied and pasted the phone number Luke had given him for Amanda or Maikeru. He hit the green button at the bottom of his screen which made his device start calling the number.
The camera man focused in on Nev, making sure to get his phone in the shot. Nev put his phone on speaker phone so that the sound guy could get all of it for when the show was aired. The phone rung a few times before a very angelic sounding voice came out of the phone.
"Hello?" Maikeru said, confused by who was calling him
"Hi! Is this Michael?" Nev asked
"Maikeru" He corrected "But yeah, who is this?"
"Its Nev from the MTV Show Catfish, I'm calling on behalf of your friend Liam" Nev explained
"Look I didn't mean for it to get this far I just thought he was nice and stuff, but I knew he'd never like me if he knew I was a guy" Michael rambled
"Woah slow down dude, Liam has something he needs to tell you too, but he can tell you if we can meet up with you in LA" Nev scratched the back of his neck nervously
He heard Michael exhale deeply, as well as a few whispers from someone in the background.
"So?" Nev asked after a few minutes
"Yeah, you can come to my apartment in Downtown LA, I'm going to Florida from New York tomorrow but we can meet up in two days? Just come down to LA tomorrow and you can chill and stuff" Michael suggested
"Yeah of course, see you in a few days Maikeru" Nev said
"Bye" Michael said quickly before hanging up.
Nev sighed and ran a hand over his face, he looked directly into the camera before speaking "I guess were going to LA"

liam: hey guys😁
isabella: hiii liam👼
anna: LIAM BABY
nicole: howdy liam
liam: so im gonna be in la tomorrow
isabella: REALLY
nicole: AERIOSLY
anna: ARE YOU KIDDING LI?!?
liam: yeah!! i was thinking we could all meet up?
anna: what about amanda?
liam: well shes not in la right now but i wanna yanno, meet her alone
nicole: omg so romantic (∗ᵕ̴᷄◡ᵕ̴᷅∗)՞
isabella: awww liammmm
liam: so can we meet at the grove? tomorrow at 6pm?
anna: yes omg of course
isabella: IM SO EXCITED
nicole: see you tomorrow liam omg im excited

nev walked back into the living room and looked over at luke, who was presumably texting anna, nicole and isabella. he cleared his throat before sitting down in between luke and max.
"michael has agreed to meet us at his apartment in LA in a few days because he isnt in LA at the moment" nev said, breaking the silence
"were meeting anna, nicole and isabella tomorrow at 6pm at the grove in LA" luke stated nervously
"lets get packing" max said excitedly
the camera shook slightly before turning off.
