The weeping widow

We lived out by the water,
Not much to see.
It was him and I,
Alone,
With the wind,
The storms,
And only the water nearby.
When he left,
And then it was only I,
When the wind no longer came,
When the storms fell quiet,
And the water went away,
All that was left,
All that remained,
Was my thoughts
And I.
Sometimes I think about the times we once had.
But then
I remember ,
I
Am only a tree.
A weeping willow,
Who is now a widow.
A widow weeping willow,
Who lives in a place
Where there is no wind,
No more storms,
Not even water anymore.
