Chapter 1
Saturday morning seem to have come slowly for Georgiana McClaire. She was up half the night waiting for her husband to return home. The sunlight was shining brightly through the large bedroom windows. It was reflecting off the mirror of the dark walnut dresser near the bed. The sun’s rays were glistening across her golden face. The welcoming rays had awoken her to an empty Victorian mansion-sized bed. She blinked a few seconds to adjust her eyes to the sunlight. She sat up wiping the sleep away from her eyes then stared at her husband’s white pillow. Hot tears formed in her big round brown eyes.
She picked up the pillow and sniffed it. The smell of her husband’s scent was there. Her tears fell down her face hitting the pillow, which she clutched in both hands tightly. She laid her head down on the pillow and sobbed. As she led there, she heard the front door open and close. She glanced at the brass clock over the Baltic-brown marble fireplace. It was six in the morning. She didn’t bother to get up, because she knew it was Jason. She could hear him walking up the winding staircase and then down the hall. The door to the bedroom swung opened. He stood in the doorway motionless for a second. His eyes beheld Georgiana lying on his side of the bed sniveling. She looked so tiny laying there. His large body moved hurriedly into the large bedroom. He pulled off his black Italian jacket and loosened his black silk tie. He tossed his jacket on the over-sized antique chair his sister-n-law had given to them as a wedding gift. He took a seat next to her on the bed. Jason drew back the cream sheets. He placed his large hand on her slender thigh then glided his hand up and down her naked soft caramel body gradually. His touches were soothing and affectionate. He leaned down and brushed her full yielding lips lightly.
“Sweetness, I’m sorry I didn’t get in last night.” He said using his favorite endearment he uses for her. “I had to wine and dine a client who flew in from Atlanta on yesterday at short notice.” He moved her long black curly locks of hair away from her heart-shaped face.
Georgiana sat up immobile not saying a word to him.
She focused her attention on the bookshelf. She thought about taking a book and hitting him across the head with it. A hardback book would be nice. She didn’t want his hands touching her. She jerked away from him. For all she knew he could have been with another woman. She wanted the man she married to put her first instead of a job. He always had an excuse when he doesn’t return home. She has been thinking about moving out, but hadn’t gotten up the nerve. Her friend Myna has offered her place to her several times, although she hadn’t made up her mind to accept. She sat in bed looking at him.
