Chapter 2

Monday morning Georgiana was sitting at her desk thinking of Jason. A smile curved her full lips. After their late breakfast Saturday, they had spent a wonderful day together. She packed a picnic lunch for the two of them. They drove to his father’s house, and took his boat out on the lake. His father was gone for must of the day. The two of them had a very relaxing day of fun on the water all day. He made love to her constantly giving her multiple orgasms. She had pleased him too in the same way. She remembered how good his body felt next to hers and his massive arms wrapped around her securely. She didn’t want the day to end it was so splendid. She came to her senses remembering Jason had left Sunday morning, which turned her smile upside down.

She didn’t have a class during first period at Beckenville High School.  She has been teaching at the high school for five years. Teaching has always been a passion of hers. She would get her sister and dolls to be the students in her pretend class. Her mother was a teacher. Naturally, she would have teaching in her blood.

As usual, she wondered why he hadn’t called. He left Sunday at 5:00 a.m. He said he would call as soon as his plane landed, although she hadn’t heard from him. She was worried. She prayed he was okay. This is what upsets her most. He leaves and doesn’t keep in regular contact with her. She doesn’t want to imagine the worst, but she cannot help it. She had to do something to take her mind off Jason. Therefore, she snatched her students’ papers from her metal desk drawer. She had planned to grade them over the weekend but left them behind. Georgiana took the red pen from her cup holder and began grading. After a few minutes went by, she heard her cell phone ring. She had placed the cell in her desk drawer when she first arrived. She didn’t want to miss Jason’s call. She opened up the drawer quickly answering it.

     “Hello.” She answered with anticipation.

     “Hi sweetness.” He said pleasantly.

It was Jason on the other end. Relief swept over her body like a whirlwind.

“Where are you, Jas? I miss you. Are you okay?” She blurted out hastily.

“Sweetness, I’m fine. I told you I would be in Washington. I’m here for the conference. I can’t talk long. I miss you and I love you. You need to stop worrying. I can hear it in your voice.”

“I can’t help it, Jas.” She replied hitting the pen on the desktop lightly. “When you cease from calling me what I’m I suppose to think? I talked to your dad Sunday evening and asked him if he heard from you. Do you know the hell you put me through each time you do this to me?” She laid the pen down then started twirling a strand of her hair on her fingertip biting on her bottom lip. “One of these days I will disappear. And will not let you know where I am.” She said tenaciously. “Have you sitting worrying and thinking crazy thoughts.”

“Don’t say things like that.” He squeezed his eyes shut for a second trying not to imagine the worst. “Why would you stay something like that?” He opened his eyes ran his hand over his head. “I’m not there to protect you. I hate leaving you alone. You think I enjoy doing that?”

She wasn’t completely alone Sykes checks up on her from time to time without her knowledge of the fact. Her father-in-law looks after her as well.

She heard the operator on the other end asking him to deposit more coins. She looked at her phone and didn’t recognize the number. He put two quarters into the machine.

“I’ll be home tomorrow, baby. I will be waiting for you when you get off. I can’t wait to hold you in my arms again.”

“Where is your cell? And where are you really?” She asked eagerly letting go of her hair standing to her feet.
