Chapter 5: An Even More Unbreakable Bond

A MONTH LATER

Danny's POV

Jamie and I have been hanging out ever since that first date. We went on a lot more when we could. I really like her and I think she likes me back. But I didn't want to jump to conclusion. I want to tell her and since the big homecoming dance was coming up, I wanted to ask her to it and tell her my feelings romantically. So today at school, I had everything set. I even discussed it with Sam and Tucker when they got to my locker.

"Okay guys, you know what to do?" I asked them.

"Yeah," they said in unison.

"You guys are perfect for each other," Sam told me.

"I think it's really cool, two halfas dating but to an extent," Tucker added.

"Yeah, she's amazing," I told them.

Then the bell rang and it was time for  lunch. Show time!

Jamie's POV

As I'm going to lunch, Sam meets up with me. We get our food and sit out our regular table. But I don't know where the boys are.

"Hey Sam, where's Danny and Tucker?" I asked.

"They'll be along," she smiles then takes out her phone. She looks like she's recording something. Then Tucker comes out with his PDA and a microphone.

"Attention students, might Jamie Dabbs come and join me up here?" he asks.

I walk up there a little embarrassed and confused. But Sam is just trying to keep from laughing.

"Jamie, do me a favor. Press this button," Tucker tells me.

As I do so, Tucker puts me in a chair and tosses Danny the microphone as 'Shut Up and Dance' plays and background dancers come out. I am totally surprised and can't quit smiling as Danny sings and dances while the background dancers dance along. As the song ends, Danny walks over to me and holds my hand.

"Jamie, I really like you. And I was wondering if you'll go to homecoming with me?" he asked me into the microphone as he offered me a beautiful necklace.

"I really like you too. So...Yes!" I say into the microphone and accepted his gift.

I hug him as the crowd cheers. When we stopped hugging but we held each other and we looked into each others' eyes, everything seemed to go silent. It was like we were the only two people in the cafeteria.

"So what now?" I asked.

"Well, I did have another question, but it can wait," he told me.

"No, go ahead," I insisted.

"Okay. Well, can I...kiss you?" he asked me.

I thought I felt my heart skip a beat. I had butterflies in my stomach. I've been waiting for this moment for the longest time.

"S-Sure," I say, nervously and excitedly.

He leans in and kisses me on the mouth. As he kissed me, I was transported to another world, a world where Danny and I were happy and the only two people there. Then I realized something amazing: I am in love with Danny!

Danny's POV

After we kissed, I kept staring into Jamie's eyes. I knew that I have fallen in love with her. I wanted to kiss her again, but our thoughts were interrupted by the bell that meant lunch was over. So we said bye and headed towards our next classes. I went to my locker and got my books but as soon as I close it, I see Dash flirting with Jamie. I got really worried.

"So Jamie, there's this big homecoming dance coming up and I know that you'll want to go with me," Dash said confidently.

"Whoa, okay. Let me give you three reasons why you are wrong," Jamie started to say, "One: I would never go with you even if I didn't have a date. Two: I already have a date. And three: he did it in the best way I've ever been asked. Something you wouldn't take into consideration."

I could've sworn that my heart stopped as soon as she said that. I was so happy that I jumped around, yelling, "Yes! Yes! YES!" I saw people look at me and notice Jamie giggling because she probably thought it was cute. Then I remembered that I was still at my locker, walked to Jamie, and held my arm out to escort her.

"Shall we?" I asked her, politely.

"We shall," she said as she accepted my arm.

"Fenton?!" I heard Dash yell then added, "What does he have that I don't have?"

Jamie turned around and snapped, "Do we have time? I have a LONG list."

I heard other kids go, "Oooh!" when they heard that. Jamie and I laughed at it and headed off to our next class.
