Chapter 8: Discovering Feelings

Danny's POV

After Ember kidnapped me, she knocked me out with her guitar. So I didn't exactly see what happened. But when I came to, I was tied to a table where other ghosts were surrounding me. I tried to phase through it, but I couldn't. Luckily, they hadn't seen me wake up.

"He's vulnerable. We can take him out without noticing," Skulker suggested.

"No. We want him to suffer. It would be better if we kill him slowly," Vlad said.

"Guys, listen. I need him alive to lure my sister here. And as soon as I kill her, get her powers, and divide it among all of you, then you can do whatever you want with him," Ember said.

"You aren't going to lay one finger on her," I managed to say.

All the ghosts turned towards me. They were about to beat me senselessly until Ember stopped them.

"Fellas, leave me and the Ghost Boy alone. I'll let you know when you can come back," she told them.

The others groaned in disappointment as they left me with the pop queen herself.

"So Dipstick, I hear that you and my sister are a thing. And if you want her to stay alive, you'll do exactly as I say," she threatened.

"Just one question: how are you two sisters anyway?" I asked.

Then I see Jamie, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz come in through the corner of my eye. Jamie then comes in and punches Ember in the face.

"Yeah, I'd like to know that too," she added.

"Well Jamie," she wipes some blood from her mouth and stands, "it started when you were five. I always kept an eye on you to protect you. Our parents, our ghost parents, never told you about me because they thought I was a bad influence."

"There were definitely right about that," Jamie smirked.

I laughed but Ember didn't look happy.

"Anyway, the day you turned six," she continued, "you went in the basement and got in the Ghost portal. We were ghosts living in the human world because of you, because you were human. As soon as you did and turned it on, you were electrocuted. You shrieked in pain and I tried to save you. But when I put my hand in and touched you, some of my powers got into you."

"You're the reason I have ghost powers?" Jamie asked.

"Yeah. When you were knocked out, mom and dad came down because they heard your screaming. They thought I hurt you. They kicked me out and put you in the care of your foster human parents. Then they put an invisible ghost shield up so full ghosts couldn't get through. But you could. You got me kicked out. And then tonight, you were about to confess your love to the powerful Ghost Boy. And if he returned his feelings, that would leave all bad ghosts powerless. So that's why you must die," Ember stated as she strummed her guitar at Jamie.

She was blasted to the wall.

"Jamie!" I screamed.

I managed to break free and punched Ember in the stomach. This is going to be fun. For me.
