*Ally's POV*
Not to cheesy or anything, but this night had been magical. I mean, it was mine and Stevie's first time together and oh man, was it amazng.
I still feel like I'm on cloud nine, and really, the chance of me ever coming down as long as I'm around Stevie is non existant.
Right now, we're cuddling ont he couch, still in our birthday suits, watching American Horror story. Stevie wanted to be the big spoon and, honestly, I wasn't going to complain. I love the feeling of her pressed close to me with her arms wrapped around me tightly.
The feeling makes me feel safe, which is a feeling I'm not entirely used to.
We're right in the middle of an episode when the lights start to flicker and suddenly everything goes black.
"Oh, shit!" Stevie yells.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Put your clothes back on." She said, putting hers on frantically.
"Stevie, what's going on? Why's the power go out?"
"Don't youhear it?" She asked me. I focused and listened for anything
At frst I didn't hear it, but then as the tv then fizzled out, I heard the clear sound of sirens. Not police sirens or that of an ambulance or firetruck, no, these were tornado sirens.
This doesn't make any sense, though. California usually gets earthquakes, not tornados.
I hear a desk drawer open quickly and slam shut. Then I saw Stevie looking as scared as ever with a flashlight in her hands.
"Ally, this apartment bulding doesn't have a basement. What are we gonna do?!"
There was a loud knock on the front door. I got up and went over to the door to see who it could possibly be. When I opened the door, it was Moonshine standing there, panic filling her features.
She quickly grabbed me and yelled for Stevie to follow. She quickly got up and ran out the door with myself and Moonshine.
I'm really glad Stevie had us put our clothes back on because how weird would it be to have to have to be cramed in a tornado shleter when you're stark naked.
When I got outside, I was taken back by how green the sky was. The sirens were much louder out here and there was no wind, either. Everything was so still and calm, but I could faintly see a funnel like cloud in the distance.
Seeing this amde me go into full on panic mode. I gripped ont Moonshine's arm as hard as I could and found Stevie's hand and squeezed it. We were all scared, but actually seeing the damn thing brought on a whole new level of fear.
"Don't worry, Ally, we're almost to the shelter." Moonshine reassured me. "In the meantime, could ya loosen up that death grip on my arm? It's satring to fall asleep. Thanks"
"Sorry." I said, looking down.
We went down a flight of stairs and into what looked like a tunnel. There were other people, apartment residents I suppose, that I could see running down the hall. When I looked behind me I saw the sky get darker and the wind started to pick up.
"Every apartment resident is safely in the tunnels!" I heard someone shout from the tunnel entrance. With that, he closed the tunnel door and switched on the emergency lights.
The tunnel illuminated with the power of the sunand I could see that these tunnels went on as far as my eyes could see.
The distant sound of trees being uprooted and things being ripped apart drowned the hallways, echoing the terrifying sounds everywhere.
