"Where am I?" I mutter, stumbling around. The forest may be huge, but I'd normally know my way round. Apparently not this time.
"Hello!" I call out. When there's no reply, I sit down underneath a small tree and close my eyes for a few seconds.
The moon shines brightly on my face and a cool breeze is blowing, sweeping my hair around madly.
I make an attempt to fix my hair, my eyes still closed. I must say, it proves as a challenge.
Suddenly, the moons heavy glow is covered by some form of a shadow. I open my eyes to be met with the yellow and black pair that I fear so deeply.
"Let's play"
---------------------
I shoot up from my previous position in bed, sweating like crazy. I make an attempt to calm my breathing which serves as a challenge, but I'm cut off when someone walks into my room.
"There's been sighting of new people on the islan- are you okay?"
I look over to see Arthur standing at the doorway, a worried look in his eyes.
"Yeah," I cake on a fake smile, "yeah I'm perfectly fine".
Arthur stares at me for a few minutes before shaking his head and turning around.
"You should probably get to camp as soon as possible. Pan needs all of the boys and you to fight this battle" he sighs, walking away.
"Battle?" I call after him. I jump out of bed and jog towards the doorway, only to find that Arthur had already left.
I swear under my breathe, confused as to what he meant by 'battle'.
I sigh, deciding to get dressed anyways. I've decided I'm getting bored of always wearing the same clothes and close my eyes, imagining a new outfit in my hands.
All it was, was a plain white shirt that rolled up to my elbow that I would tuck into a pair of high waisted black shorts. Then there was a pair of thigh high, black/grey socks that I paired with a pair of leather boots.
Standing in a plain white tank top and black checkered pyjama shorts (I felt sleeping in my underwear was no longer a safe idea), I only now realise how much I stink. I really need a good wash. So additionally, I imagine a pair of underwear so I can have something to change into after a quick wash before we leave to investigate/battle or whatever.
As big as the treehouse is, it only has 5 rooms. The kitchen, the sitting room, my bedroom and a study that I forgot to mention. The study is just for writing down ideas or drawing. Whatever you like to study I guess. But the house seems to lack in a bathroom. I'm not really complaining though.
I jog downstairs, still in my pyjamas, heading straight out the door and making my way to Mermaid Lagoon.
Now Mermaid Lagoons name is slightly misleading to me. Yes, Mermaids do live there. But Mermaids are not as they seem. The only time you'll meet a mermaid is when it's on it's way to kill you and eat your heart out. So you won't see Mermaids around most of the time. It's more the 'Lake Of Broken Dreams'.
I was the type of girl who loved Mermaids when she was younger. Loved the idea of swimming in the ocean with the beautiful creatures that live with the fish under the sea. Dreamed of waking up, under the ocean, with a tail and a shell bra.
But no matter how much I dreamed of meeting a Mermaid, or even being one, it never seemed to happen.
So imagine my excitement when Pan told me I could meet a Mermaid. Then my extreme disappointment when I was nearly drowned by such a beautiful creature. Never again could I look at Mermaids the same way I used to.
