"She's gonna be okay, right?" Oscar asks Peter, his voice shaking. Peter stares at him for a second before breaking the strong gaze and looking to his side.
"Yeah. Yeah, she'll be fine" he coughs, rubbing his eye. Something didn't seem entirely truthful when it came to his statement. He was lying, or he simply wanted to convince himself.
"Will she really?" asks the young boy once again, tears in his eyes. He didn't fully understand what was going on. Why was Scar sleeping? Was she gone forever? Was she taken to a better place, like his mother had always said about his father? He hoped that if she was then she'd meet his father, who he knew would take good care of her.
"Look" sighs Peter, crouching down to the small boys level. Oscar stares him in the eye, only now realising how puffy and red they where.
'He must have been crying' thought Oscar sadly, trying to pay attention to what the green eyed piper was saying.
"I'm not sure what happened to Scarlett. I just know that whatever it is, she'll get through it. There's no need to worry" smiles Peter sadly.
The poor Lost Boy who stood in front of him had no idea what was going on, and Peter didn't want to be the one to explain it to him. He wanted Scar to. However in her current state, it may be a while before the young boy finds out about the poison aiming for her heart.
"Okay, I believe you" smiles Oscar, looking behind the crouched teenager to his sisterly figure. How he longed for a nice warm hug from her.
He kept a smile on his face, considering Peter couldn't. To the small boy, there was no need to be upset. Peter was a teenager, he knows what he's talking about. So if he says she'll be alright, she'll be alright. Right?
"Alright then kiddo" smiles Peter, speaking in a soft tone. This surprised Oscar as he was used to hearing him either yell, or use a cheeky tone. So why when Scar came along did he suddenly change?
'Huh, I know!' thinks Oscar proudly.
"Are you two married?" he asks Peter, a huge grin on his face. Peter stares at him in shock before mumbling to himself,
"I wish"
He hadn't realised the small ray of sunshine had heard him until he heard squeals of excitement and happy giggles from the young boy who stood next to him.
Peter sighed, plopping down onto the ground with a loud thump. He sat cross legged beside the giggling child who scrambled onto the floor beside him. He tried his best to copy Peter by crossing his legs, but he ended up hurting his foot. He didn't mind though.
"When are you going to get married?!" squeals the little boy, happily smiling and holding his foot. It hurt really bad, but he was to excited about the 'wedding'.
"Oscar, we're not getting married" giggled Peter, trying to blow the hair out of his face.
He was to lazy to bring his hand up and brush it out of his face, but trying to blow it away stressed him out. In the end he just brought his hand up to his face and brushed the ashy blonde locks from his pure green eyes.
"Why not?" fake pouts the small boy. He was smart. He knew you couldn't decide the choices people make in their lives. He just really wanted them to get married.
"Because we hardly know each other. I don't even know what her favourite colour is" sighs Peter dramatically, sadly running a hand through his hair.
"Lilac" states the young boy, confusing Peter.
"What?" chuckles Peter with a confused tone. Peter had always loved the colour lilac, but the young boys statement had truly confused him.
"Her favourite colour is lilac" smiles Oscar, his grin lighting up such a dark room and dark situation.
