****** 3 years later, 1 month before Ryan's birthday******
Today started just like any other. Wake up, eat breakfast, reread a few books about the wonders that everyone in my family could do (unless they were a squib or me). I really needed to get some new books up to my room for me to read. My birthday also happens to be next month, I'm SO excited!! I absolutely can't wait for another year to go by without me getting my Hogwarts letter, and yes that was sarcasm. Although I do have a feeling that I might actually get it this year, I'm not quite sure why, though. I think that this year I'm going to allow myself to hope for the letter to come.
**********Ryan's birthday***********
Finally, today is my birthday. I woke up. Went down to get breakfast, and thought for the fourth time, maybe this year. After breakfast we went to London for the day, it was a lot of fun. We ended going to a small cafe The whole time I was hoping that when we got home I would see my letter on the stoop.
We were almost home when I saw an owl fly by. This actually didn't make me as excited as most would think, seeing as I've seen many owls in the past three years, yet none were for me. Even then on the off chance that an owl did come for me, it was a family member sending news or some other pureblood family sending an invitation to some event. I always declined the invitations, though and none of these owls ever came around near my birthday.
Now, my family may consist of purebloods but that doesn't mean anything to us, well, to most of my family at least. This is the reason behind my parents driving us home London. You see my father has a rather large interest in muggle contraptions and likes to modify them to work better for a wizard, but never mind that, back to the drive home. It was getting dark out and our headlights weren't working on the long drive back to our manor when all of a sudden a car came swerving out in front of us. This car collided with us and our vehicle started to flip. That was when time slowed down around me. After I realized what was happening, I quickly unbuckled, grabbed my parents, and disapparated home.
Once we were all at home and safe I finally took in what had just happened. It was a real surprise to me and my parents. I had magic. No, I HAVE magic. Life couldn't get any better than this. Then I saw it, the owl from earlier, sitting on the flower box by the front window. I slowly walked over towards it and opened the window. After taking a moment to pet the owl, I took the envelope from its talons and looked down at it. The envelope was addressed to me and it was from Hogwart.
