Hi, I'm back. This ones half the normal length because its a simple filler just so I can easy back into things. I hope this is good enough, I haven't been near this story for a while (well, durr) but not writing for such a stretch of time has taken a toll on me that I've only recently noticed. So now, here is the way over due....
chapter eight
I stepped out of the elevator, yawning and messing up my hair. I opened the door to my hotel room and breathed in deeply.
I was exaustated.
Not from hard work, but more so hardcore binge watching on Netflix in Carter's room for five hours. Carter had stolen my entire day fron me, simply by pressing the first play button.
Once inside, I was greeted by Lynn's and Ava's cheeky smiles. "Welcome home, T," they chorused, beaming evily.
I narrowed my eyes. "We were only watching Netflix," I defended.
Ava and Lynn looked at each other. "I'm sorry, what?" Lynn asked.
I sighed, shaking my head and siting on the edge of my bed. "Nevermind." I feel back, letting the soft comforters swallow me.
"Um, Teagan," Ava said, "aren't you going to take a shower? You smelly musky and disgusting."
"Well, thank you for putting it so nicely," I growled. "And I will in a few seconds, okay?"
I inhaled the air once again and picked myself up. I grabbed a pair of pajamas and some underwear I had thown into the dresser when we had arrived on the first day. trudged into the bathroom, yawning again. I shut and locked the door behind me.
Smirking lazily, I danced in front of the mirror for a minute or two, then quietly laughed at myself. I finally stripped of my clothing, stepping into the tub. When I looked up to turn on the water, I pulled back my hand immediately, shrieking in fear.
"Ava Cordielia Cameron," I seethed.
The laughter on the other side of the wall partially died out. "C'mon, Teagan. You had to mention the Cordelia?" Ava groaned.
I placed my hands on my naked hips and stared at the image before me. "Yes," I bluntly replied. "That's what you get for having a gigantic self portrait of you stare at my bare body."
"Gosh, Grandma, these days, it's called a selfie," Ava said. I rolled my eyes and still covered and hid myself from the picture's gaze. Picture Ava stared at me with a winking eye and her tongue stuck out.
A snickering Lynn called out, "Look behind you!"
I slowly turned around. "Oh great," I mumbled. An image of Lynn groping her breasts and smiling flirtatiously at me stared back. I ripped both pictures down from the shower walls throwing them out onto the bathroom floors. I didn't need to feel as if the two of them were eyeing me as I took a shower. "Real mature, you guys," I shouted.
As I scrubbed at my skin, I wondered, how did they even get themselves printed so largely?
I took a step out of the shower and slipped my feet into my flip-flops. I wiggled my toes and stretched, my bones now relaxed thanks to the warm shower. Running my fingers through thin wet strands of my hair, I yawned. I slipped on some panties then grabbed a white, hotel provided robe from a small table next to the bath and wrapped it around my petite frame. As I was knotting the ribbon on the robe, I caught sight of my reflection in the mirror.
I finished tying and stepped closer to the mirror. I took a second to observe my flaws -- a few acne scars and the scab that was protecting my surfing accident while it attempted to heal -- then went on to focus on more valuable assets. I admired my eyes, my smiles, and the straight white teeth within that smile. I squeezed at my chest, then laughed silently at my ridiculousness. Giving the mirror one last pose, I stepped back into the bedroom.
Ava nodded at me once I ended, eyeing my attire curiously. "You took quite a while to just slip on a robe and flip flops." She noted.
Lynn was still smiling next to her, typing away on her laptop and probably still reminiscing on her earlier prank.
"I also put on panties," I added.
Ava scoffed. "Oh, well thay explains it," was her sarcastic reply.
I took a seat on the bed next to Ava. "So what kept you so busy, Teagan?" inquired Ava, mischievously. My eyes nervously widened and I scooted a few inches away from my best friend. "Nothing," I shrugged. "I was just working out. The gym. That stuff."
Lynn clicked her tongue from a bed over. "So you were working out for almost eight hours?" She asked.
"Actually," I corrected, "It was closer to five or six."
Ava's head jerks in my direction. "Defensiveness? Now I'm curious."My eyebrows furrow in shame. "I was hanging out with a friend."
"We're in a whole other continent," Lynn began."...there's only one friend -- that isn't us -- that you have here." Ava finished.
My shoulders drop.
"You were with Carter." They both deducted. I nodded and patiently waited for a very happy squeal from at least one of them.
A high pitched noise emitted from Ava's mouth and I received a round of applause from the two sisters."Don't get your hopes up." I warned. "We mainly just streamed Netflix."
Ava gasped. "Netflix and chill on the first date?! T, I thought you had some dignity!"
"A. Sex shouldn't define anyone's level of dignity. B. No we did not Netflix and chill!" I cleared up.
I got an obviously nonbelieving and sassy "mmmhmmm" from Ava and a doubtful chuckle from Lynn.
"You guys!" I yell. "I swear, I remain untainted!"Lynn and Ava weren't listening to me. They were too busy focusing on something going on behind me.
A male voice cleared its throat. "Well that's comforting to know Teagan."
I tensed up and slowly turned around. I facepalm when I see the person who made the comment."It stresses me out just a little bit less knowing my daughters are sharing a hotel room with a renowned virgin." Mr. Cameron managed to spit out. I say managed because he was laughing obnoxiously between words.
I apologize to Mr. C and he simply nodded and left the room, still laughing to himself like there was no tomorrow.
