Omg, so sorry. I'm so bad at updates but I have been receiving so many good messages and requests that I'm hopefully gonna write soon! I love all you nuggets!! ENJOY PART 2!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Nurse Jamie put numbing cream on my leg so I wouldn't be in so much pain before she did the X-Ray. She said it would take a few minutes before they would be ready so the lads and I were able to talk without me being in pain for a few minutes.
When Nurse Jamie came back, she had a sad face on and that kind of scared me. She hooked the pictures on the wall and turned on the light."So I did an examination of your leg before I brought it here and as you can see, it's not looking very good." She said.
My ankle looked so misshapen that I wasn't even sure it was an ankle. You could clearly see a lot of my bones were broken and my ankle was dislocated.
"Sadly, there are a lot of bones that have been broken and dislocated that your ankle can't heal with just a cast so we need to transfer you to a hospital to get a procedure done to help get all of your bones in the correct position and we will need to insert some things into your ankle because some bones are far beyond repairing."
That was a lot to take in. I didn't know what to say. I sat there in shock until I finally remembered how to speak again."When will the procedure be? When am I being transferred?" I asked softly.
"We plan to transfer you in an hour or so and I wanted to ask you if this evening at 9 would be good for you boys. It has to be done within the next 24 hours or it will only get worse. The procedure should take about 3-6 hours depending on what they find during the procedure." She answered with some sympathy in her voice.
"That's fine with me. Thank you very much." I said back giving a slight smile, trying to hide my fear.
Once she left Harry said, "Well I wasn't expecting that. I thought it was gonna be minor. No wonder you're in so much pain."
"Yeah, big surprise there. We will have to work things out with the tour and stuff because I'm assuming you will be on crutches and shouldn't be walking around much." Liam agreed.
"We will figure it out. I'm sure everything will be fine and I'll be back to normal before you know it!" I said loudly, hoping to get some smiles back, and luckily I did.
"How are you always so positive! You're getting surgery, for crying out loud! And your just planning on when your gonna go your next Horan jump on stage!" Louis exclaimed, getting everyone in the room to laugh.
We made small talk, cracking jokes every now and again and it was finally time for me to be transferred. Louis came in the non-emergency ambulance with me because it couldn't fit all of us.
Once we made it to the hospital, I was given a room and hooked up to an IV to make sure I was hydrated for the procedure. They also put a heart monitor on my chest and oxygen monitor on my finger since the operation was in and hour and a half.Before I knew it, it was almost time, and I was nervous. The boys noticed this.
"It's gonna be fine, Ni. To get too worked up over it. We will have food and the football match on ready for when you wake up. " Louis reassured me.
I smiled because they remembered that there was a football match on that I wanted to watch coming on at 4 am. Why so early, I don't know but I don't care because Derby County is playing so that means I'm watching it!!
Just then, the doctor came into the room telling me it was time to go. I said bye to the boys by hugging them while they said encouraging words to me.
Word count is about 650. Pretty short but I felt like I wanted this in three parts. 1st is getting the injury, 2nd is diagnosing the injury and the last is recovering from the injury. Hope you liked it and hopefully I will update part 3 soon.
