"Ame!" Ame looked up from where she was sitting on Ichigo's back porch to see Ichigo running towards her from the back door. As she stood up to say hi he slipped ad came crashing into her, their heads being the point of contact.
"Ow." She groaned as she sat up. Ichigo was laying beside her holding his head in pain. "Man you have a hard head." He moaned.
"It's your fault for tripping, stupid." She rubbed her aching head. "Why was you running anyways?" She asked him.
"I was excited that you had come before I had to go to class." He grinned reminding her that he had a martial arts class today. "You forgot I had class didn't you." He said as he noticed her downcast look. "Don't worry." He smiled. "I'll definitely play with you afterwards." She smiled and nodded.
"It's a promise, right?" She asked him. He grinned. "Absolutely!" He shouted as his mother called him. It was time for him to go. "I'll see you in a few hours." He ran over to his mother and the two began walking away. "Don't forget!" She yelled. "We're meeting down by the river." He looked back and waved to show he had heard her.
"It's kinda weird watching Ichigo talk to himself like that." Ame flinched at Ichigo's little sister's words. She had walked outside shortly after Ichigo had ran to his mother. It was Yuzu, Karin was close behind her.
"Hey, mom said we need to be nice about that." Karin scolded Yuzu.
"Neither mom or Ichigo is here so why does it matter." Yuzu countered as she made her way into the yard to where they had left their game the day before. "Wasn't it your turn?" She asked.
"No it was your turn." Karin said as she found where she had ended the day before. "Remember, I rolled a fourteen and then landed on a snail and got a penalty."
Ame watched the two as the began their complex game that involved sticks rocks and a wild imagination. She had tried to watch and learn the game before but had quickly gotten lost. The rules changed from day to day as well as depending on their mood. She had no idea how Ichigo could jump in mid game and end it with his win. It never made sense.
Well while she waited for Ichigo to get out of class she could work on her strength. It was getting easier for her to affect the world of the living. She could also jump incredibly high now. And her physical strength was growing daily. She jumped up onto the fence and and began walking along it like it was a balancing beam. As she made her way down the block she hummed a simple tune.
"Hm hm huh humm. Hmm hum hmmmm." She jumped to the next fence across the street when she got to the end of her current fence and continued her little song. This time actually singing out the notes. "Da da duh dummm. Daa dum dummm." She came across a open gate and front flipped over it landing perfectly on the other side perfectly. "Tada!" She stood for a second as if posed and then giggled as she took of running down the fence as fast as she could. She knew no one could see her but it didn't matter since this was what made her feel alive the most when Ichigo wasn't with her.
Eventually the houses ended and she could no longer stay on the fences to get to her destination. She sighed sadly as she jumped of the fence. "Good bye mister or misses fence. It was fun walking along you." She pressed her face and arms against the white plastic in a strange kind of hug before turning and running through the streets leading to the old construction site. Which was a incomplete building that was four stories high, three of those completed. One corner was broken and disrepaired. There was also four cranes and several bulldozers and smaller equipment for construction scattered about. A few had sunk into the ground slightly. Lots of material was stacked about and in different levels of waste.
The old construction site was her favorite place to train herself. She had found out by listening to people walking past that it had been abandoned due to shifting sands beneath the soil causing the area to be unstable. The equipment and material that was being used their at the time of abandonment were left there due to this same reason and made a great obstacle course for her. She quickly jumped the ten foot fence clearing it with ease and proceed to draw out her course for the day.
