"Welcome everyone to this years Modeling Games" he starts earning a series of applause.
"We are all thankful for all of the models who decided to participate in this years games" I let out a small chuckle and shake my head.
I hear the camera shutters going of.
Click. Click. Click. Click. Click.
I bring my hands to my eyes to rub them, but I hear Emily's voice scolding me about her artwork. I sigh, a long heavy sigh. More camera shutters go off and the clicks and flashes start to annoy me.
I start to listen to the older man's voice again.
"-and thank you to the sponsors and all the behind the scenes workers." low, steady claps sound "Now, the moment that most of you have been waiting for" He pauses. It seems like he is trying to kill the models. We want to know the information and he pauses. Nice job kid you left us on a cliff hanger.
"The theme for this year"
Pause
"is"
Pause
"Partners in Crime"
Boom, chaos. All the reporters rush towards the runway. They shove microphones towards his face asking millions of repetitive questions.
Excuse me sir, why did you guys choose this theme?
Are the partners chosen?
What about the models of the years?
Will it be same sex?
Is there any limitation to the photo discretion?
Security guards come and calm everyone down. This takes several minutes of continual boredom and waiting. I sigh, for the millionth time tonight and lean back in my chair.
"Thank you for settling down ladies and gentlemen" multiple hums, grunts and mutters sound "Now, I will answer the main questions. This theme was because we wanted to see how well they worked together. Yes, the partners have been chosen and will be publicly announced today. Models, when we call your name stand then wait for your partner then walk on the runway, and say a few words then sit back down. The two models of the year have no exception and will be graded the same way. There is no limits to the photography. Finally, if the model is eliminated both models go home. This also means there are two winners this year."
He pauses. I can hear the pencils scribbling down the info and the cameras rolling. The security guards thuds each time there boot hits the ground.
Thud, thud, thud.
It's like it wants me to shout, scream, run. The sound, the breathing, the occasion. It just- just wants me to do something I know I would regret. I can't, not now, not here. I take deep breaths calming me.
"Now I will start calling out the models and their partners" he says with that smile, the smile everyone in this industry has. That short, slim, grin looking smile.
It disgusts me.
This all disgusts me.
"Nina Agdall" a danish woman stands up looking stunning, her hair perfectly cured and her dress hugging her body perfectly. "and Tyson Ballou"
They both walk up. A gorgeous 5"9 woman and a 6"2 man walk up. Meet in the middle and strut, hand in hand. It almost seems rehearsed. They speak about being thankful and say how they're excited to work with each other. They are dismissed and the ceremony goes on.
I tune out the rest and doze off.
"Fashion icon, Cara Delevinge" This gets my attention she stands in her glory. She smirks and waves towards the cameras "and Simon Nessman"
They do the same as everyone else.
Go on stage, wave, hold hands, say a bit, etcetera.
"Most recent Model of the Year, Miss Barbara Palvin" I stand and smile. "oh this is interesting" I hear the master of ceremonies say with a humorous tone evident in his voice. "and the-"
As soon as he says this name I swear everyone in the room let out a gasp.
"Francisco Lachowski"
