The finals decided

The finals soon started and all twelve duelists were required to come and see who would start out the Battle city finals. Everyone showed up except Ishizu and when someone came to tell her about it she told them her attendance wasn't required as she would not be part of the first duel. When it was reported they let the numbers be drawn.

Yami and Britt stood with their friends and Yami kept an arm around her with Marik and Bakura so close by. He didn't trust them and he knew any of them were could be in danger. Zoey hid in the dark area of the room as she watched to see who would be chosen. When two numbers were revealed it showed it would be Yami and Bakura going first.

So the Queen is safe for now from my wrath. Lisa thought

Britt looked at Yami and he kissed her cheek "It'll be ok. I'll win." Yami told her as he left to go to the elevator to go up.

Britt went with their friends to watch and though it was a tough duel to keep her eyes on she fought back every time she wanted to go to his side. She gave a sigh of relief though when she saw him win.

Her calmness was soon ruined when she heard a dark laugh behind her and she looked back.

"My my, I do hope you remember me Brittania. My king may have failed to eliminate yours but soon it'll be you against me and the tides will turn. You'll go down and I will win." Lisa said

Britt's eyes flashed Nile Blue for a second.

"You'll never win against me Lisa. I have a Goddess and a deck of light. Your nothing but darkness and seeking a losing battle." Brittania said to her.

It wasn't long that everyone was summoned for the next duel, Yami once again kept Britt close to him while they watched the balls move around and two be chosen. It was soon found out that the next duel would be Joey and the person who claimed to be Marik.

Everyone went to watch the duel, and even though Joey had a good start it started to go sour pretty quick. They wondered what was going on even Britt and Yami felt that something was off about Marik. Joey started talking about how he acted and that his gut was telling him that he wasn't marik.

Yami, is Joey right? Britt thought to Yami

Joey has a good point Britt. He doesn't seem like the one who's been wanting to grab you and take my puzzle. He thought to her

but if he's not- Britt thought but didn't get to finish

who could be? Yami thought

wait could it be? They both thought and looked back at Namu around the same time.

They put their attention back to the duel and seen it would have been over had Marik's monster finished the attack, but he called it back at the last minute then called upon the card in his sacred tomb.

"could it really be?" Britt asked

The Winged Dragon of Ra was brought to the field but the sky started to get cloudy with lightning. As it was called upon to make an attack lightning was still going and it striked both Odion and Joey. They hoped that things would get up but as both opponents were knocked out they had to wait and watch for a five minute limit that would put either Joey or Odion either the winner or both losing. As they waited it seemed hopeless but then Joey suddenly came to his feet and was declared the winner.

Joey and Yami went over to Odion and checked to see if he was ok, Odion pointed out who the real Marik was and as they all looked they saw something was going on. Britt looked back as she saw what was going on and all of them saw Marik Scream before he looked different. Britt backed up when she saw the difference.
